Pretty much. TBH I think it only matter of time before they bring back everything. Panda phoenixes, wod mogs, legion mogs etc.
A small but vocal minority will rage for a bit but eventually they’ll be drowned out by those happy to have them back.

The kinds of things they would need to do to actually bring this game back from the perpetual freefall would cause such an uproar they clearly don’t even want to deal with it.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around what the fixation is on Mage Tower specifically. I don’t see a post every other week calling for MoP or WoD challenge appearances.
Also, no. They should stay locked. Sucks for new players but that’s life. I missed MoP and WoD appearances because I started mid WoD and didn’t get to actually attempt the Challenge modes. Disappointing, but it just made me redouble my effort to not miss out come Legion.
The real issue is the lack of challenge mode cosmetics from the last 4 years. Neither Visions nor Torghast Adamant Vaults count. They are weaksauce cosmetics compared to Challenge modes. That new transmog in the store could have been a challenge reward in ZM, but no.

Probably because the mage tower appearances are really high quality and unique models and Legion was the last time we saw something like that.
WoD and MoP stuff was good but I don’t think it was at the level of MT appearances.

No content should ever be removed from the game. This is one of many reasons subs have declined over the past decade.
On the other hand, Blizzard does have the habit of coming up with terrible ideas and sticking to them for years.

Nah the weapon appearances should stay gone. There’s nothing wrong with limited time events.
They brought back the content but not the reward, which they said would remain exclusive. Their compromise was fine.

I’ve got the original werebear forms and several weapon appearances on multiple characters but I went for the ones I cared about instead of just unlocking them all. I am glad that the weapon appearances are staying unique (sorry, not sorry) but I do wish that the werebear was a different color variation other than taking the rated BG color (10 rated bg wins when you are HORRIBLE at pvp sucked and I felt very accomplished when I earned that skin) and throwing fel tattoos onto it….(I haven’t had my druid in her werebear stand next to a felbear but in general, the tint appears the same).

Nah. I got the original one. Why should I possibly care if other people get it? Other people already have it.
Ironic, since no one has been asking for the Mage Tower to come back in order to do the Mage Tower. The posts are always people who want the rewards even though they didn’t get them or weren’t around. For someone who has 18k posts you’re woefully inept about what is posted.
I like the fact that Blizzard rewards you for participating in an event when it was offered.
I also like this compromise they’re doing and I wish they would do more.
Bring back the Black and Plagued Proto-drake but not the titles.
Bring back the MoP cloak and quest line but not the title.
Bring back the WoD ring and give those that did it during WoD a title.
Just a couple of examples. It’s just a way to say “yeah I did it when it was difficult” or whatever. Would the Immortal title have the same meaning if you blasted through Naxx at level 120? No, it becomes worthless. And it feels silly to reward weapon skins for doing the MT now when your weapons were deactivated 4+ years ago.
