Orc Clan Selection during armor quest

Curious as to what clan my fellow orcs selected during the orc heritage armor quest.

Nakhu = Warsong.

Blackrock here for Gen, although I was sorely tempted by both Frostwolf and Dragonmaw for various reasons.

The choice to be good and to do better, rather than just the ‘we’ve always been honorable’ of the Frostwolves and the ‘we’re trying to be better but we’re just so screwed up’ of the Dragonmaw didn’t really resonate with me.

I freely admit it took about 20 minutes to decide, but at the same point, I wish I had done it on a different character because the ‘Clanless’ flag looks better than most of the Clan Flags.

The gayer clan dominated (lol) them and brought them under their flag. Warsong. What’s gayer than singing songs ?

Just in case—

You can speak with Envoy Korg in Razor Hill to change banners.

Not playing at the moment but was Shadowmoon an option?

Frostwolf, Shattered Hand, Warsong, Blackrock, Bleeding Hollow, and Dragonmaw are the options. There is also the Burning Blade banner toy from WoD, but that has a different, and longer, cooldown unfortunately.

She is the only Mag’har Shadowmoon orc left. I read that to mean she is the last uncorrupted by fel Shadowmoon who was infected with Red Pox and left behind at Garadar. That still leaves open the door for Shadowmoon who were fel corrupted and became members of the original Horde and their offspring. Plus any Shadowmoon from AU Draenor.

I haven’t done it yet, but feel like I’m leaning towards dragonmaw.

I absolutely love that A Certain Returning Character is the new warsong chieftain, but the clan theme as a whole never resonated with my clanless orc.

Anyway, so I know dragonmaw seems a bit clunky in the writing, but my primary thought is:

  • My particular orc wasn’t a lok’tar warcrimes ogar sort from vanilla to now, and being uh… forcefully conscripted during the fourth war definitely took its toll. So to her, there are clans present that speak too highly of honor or battle but aren’t all that penitent about it. At least the dragonmaw are confronting theirs, with a chieftain focused on redemption.
  • She’s sticking with them to see how they handle coming to terms with what they did, spiritually and mentally. And also as a “keep them honest” kind of outlook with their path of penance. So it’s not permanent if the dragonmaw stray from this future Gorfax is seeking.

That disappointing feeling when you log in, excited to do the quest and you see that your Orc isn’t exalted with Orgrimmar…but somehow is exalted Thunder Bluff

When I get that last bit of rep though I’m going for Blackrock.

This was close to my reasoning for going Dragonmaw as well.

My orc took great pride in being a soldier of the horde until the fourth war, which caused him to retire as a soldier afterwards out of shame for the actions he was a part of during said war.

Seeing the dragonmaw going through a similar sort of “regret for past actions, and trying to redeem themselves” arc resonates with him more than “I am an honorable man, and always have been.”

I also found it very comical when Thrall’s son is talking about how we dislikes having the pressure of two great shaman parents.

Then he says something like “I hope watching you will light something different in me.” to my orc… who is also a shaman.

Yeah but does your orc have any secondary professions? Maybe he was hoping you’d teach him some cooking. Surely it is the destiny of the warchief’s son to become the warchef

He was secretly hoping my orc would teach him some sick dance moves.
