i see it from both positions but lean to the side that classic vanilla wouldnt be very classic without the original models. 
That’s the problem… He doesn’t look like a manly man anymore… Lol. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking on you for liking what he turned into, because to be honest you seem like a nice person in real life and I don’t wish any real ill will towards you, but just imagine growing up on something and loving it, only to watch a company turn into something it’s not as time goes by? It’s like growing up on Star Wars and watching what Disney did to it once they bought the franchise… They DESTROYED the Jedi and the whole concept of being one, get me? They did the same to the Warcraft universe to some extent, one that is pretty obvious imo. What have you grew up on? That you held dear when you were a kid? How would you feel if someone bought that franchise then totally ‘molested’ it? Turning it into a different universe, and/or one to the extent of drawing a completely different crowd compared to the crowds it originally brought in? It wouldn’t feel too good, would it? lol. I’m just giving examples here.

huh, not sure what the deal is. all i know is what was reported by players who complained that the new animations were mangling the vanilla textures and they just wanted the toggle to let them revert to the vanilla textures with vanilla animations, and were told no. someone here knows where that discussion took place (somewhere on the old general discussion forums is my guess)
(i have theory that lucas is so brilliant that the weirdness of the new films goes all the way back to episode 1, and the evil mastermind has been maz the whole time (like she’s yoda’s polar opposite). shes been force projecting herself. she was jar jar. she was plagueis. she was snoke and in eight, she was luke also. we havent seen the real luke yet. )
Well, there’s a lot of player reports of things on this forum that are blatantly false. I’m not taking jabs at you, I’ve been spending a lot of time here trying to stop the spread of misinformation and it’s growing tiresome.
Look at the Warlock pet summoning thing for instance. Blizzard had to make a post here because so many people thought they got it wrong in the Demo but it turns out, Blizzard was right.
Or how about all the people that still think Vanilla nights were far darker than the nights on BfA? I’ve spent hours arguing with those people and disproving their claims. It’s so ridiculous that people will argue to the ends of the earth, even when presented with irrefutable evidence that they’re wrong.
The worst thing about all that, is the sheer number of people that’ll back them up on their lies.

i saw a video from like beta vanilla, where everyone had to carry torches in duskwood. thats likely where that whole idea came from.

Oh, another good example is the right-click report and auto-squelch function that is attached to it. I’d venture to say that most people believe it was introduced in the Legion pre-patch, those people are off by a bit; it was introduced in May of 2007.
there’s a statue of maz in anakin’s childhood home in episode 1. that lady likely created anakin. remember they say plagueis created anakin? well if plagueis is maz, then maz created anakin (and likely created rey as well). oh and get this: her little castle… built on the ruins of a jedi/sith temple and all the flags are from the podracer tracks on tatooine. that lady is trouble.
Like I said, I don’t get into Disney Star Wars… Lol. Talking to me about it really means nothing. It’s a shame that you’re not acknowledging any of the points I made though… But anyways, it’s what ever. lol. You have a good one. George Lucas AND Mark Hamill didn’t like the Disney Star Wars movies, especially Lucas I believe… They Disney films aren’t exactly aligned with the Star Wars universe. They’re basically multi-million dollar fan films.

as regards the …hmm… hard core fantasy themes being edited out of modern fantasy media, yeah, bigger audience, more money. the problem is our economy and then the global economy has crashed twice since wow was released, which is why we ended up with all the microtransactions and lootboxes.
Yeah well, there’s a theory out there that says Jar Jar was actually Sith. A very powerful one at that… If you’re truly that interested in Star Wars (which is cool and all) you should check out those videos on YouTube. They’re a little creepy, but pretty cool… You might like them.
i have. thats why i think he’s a maz projection. remember how fake luke force projected himself to the salt planet with his appearance from the jedi academy days in order to freak out kylo (pushing that boy further and further to the dark side).
Maz to me doesn’t exist. If she wasn’t in George Lucas’s Star Wars than she isn’t in Star Wars at all. The multi-million dollar fan films that Disney made are just that, fan films… And since that’s the case everything in those films are irrelevant to the Star Wars universe. Lol. IMO anyways…
i agree that the older themes are more appealing for an older audience and that retail wow attracts younger players. so its not so much different mindsets as it is different age groups.
we are gonna get in trouble for off topic so gotta include topic discussion with sw. but see maz was in episode 1. one guy mentioned she was hanging with the jawas, and that’s not only how she hid her identity on tatooine, but also explains how she got all the podracer flags she had decorating the outside of her castle. think of the new directors like sleight of hand magicians. they are developing lucas’ maz story right under the surface of stuff that irritates people - the gambling planet purpose - to focus on two opposites being funded by a central power that feeds off the sale of arms to both sides. thats what maz has been doing this whole time. she’s older than yoda. she’s over 1000 years old. /wiggles eyebrows

Ahh, ok. So she was in episode 1? I must of missed that… If so, then I apologize. I wish we would have seen her in episode 1… I wonder what she would of looked like in a Lucas film instead? Probably less cheesier than what Disney made her out to be, lol. But anyways, i agree with you… Probably isn’t wise to talk off-topic, but it was nice talking to you anyways… Hope you have a good one. if i were building a webpage, i’d easily be able to toggle between 2 different sets of animations, even 3d animations, so i’m not sure why blizzard said that (if they did), but i’m going to venture a guess based on an old story regarding a draenei pony tail in wod. apparently, this particular pony tail had one bone too many, and it was actually crashing the server. the engine itself is old and has limitations on how many bones it can animate. why, i have no idea but is likely related to memory constraints in how their engine communicates with pc graphics cards. that stuff is way over my paygrade.
i mean other mmorpgs have tons of sliders to fine tune your characters appearance. here’s one from star wars galaxies mmorpg, created back in the tbc era i do believe. look at how much customization. wow’s engine cant do this. even today it can’t. might explain why they dont want to have toggle for two different skeleton animations for the same character

Giving both options of classic graphics and modern graphics seems more reasonable . Will serve everyone experience . .
