Option to opt out of prepatch event

Title says it all, there needs to be a definitive way to opt out of the whole undead thing.

if not it’s just be a whole 8 days of people saying the event blew chunks, which it does.

I’m not playing it. How easy is that?

There is no need to opt out of something.

We really need an opt out option, I do not like the zombies forcing PVP, ruins everything.

Get over it

I killed a few zombies, became a zombie a couple of times but a quick press of 5 solved that with zombie self destruct and a short corpse run back.

Could just play something else, or do something else entirely. It’s only 1 week until launch.

Get out of Stormwind.

Good news! You can!

Logout until Shadowlands launches next week.

I like how the majority of replies here encourage just not playing the game, we paid for our subs and I think that if people don’t wanna do ill-conceived content then I think the option to opt out is critical. Maybe I just wanna sit in front of sw gates and duel without being bothered every 30 seconds by some drooling neanderthal exploding all over me.

The majority of pro-blizz posters would like people to just log out and never play the game again, which is often what happens when people are forced to stop playing even temporarily by bad dev decisions. A community of antisocials just makes it so easy for someone to find they have something better to do than pay for the privilege of being trashed.

I mean… It’s a one week event. Telling folks to do something else for a week is pretty sound advice.

Heck, that’s what I’m doing. I’m playing Guild Wars instead. I can’t find any zombies to kill (you’d think it’d be easy with the way folks are talking on these forums) and the rares in Icecrown are a joke.

Next week it’s all gone though and we can play the new expansion!

Its super easy to avoid if you are leveling. So i made the decision im not that into the event because of time. With SL launch on monday and with my work hours im only playing about 2 maybe 3 hours a night before i hit bed.

Theres characters i need to hit 50 so i can play them in SL. So i chromie and level in WoD or MoP. No zombies or crowds to cut into questing efficiency.

The only thing is my new characters are gonna be rough to level in SL with 50 or 60 ilvl but its all i have time for so ill deal with it.

super not easy to avoid if you spend your time in front of sw gates socializing & dueling

I have tried to kill him 5 times so far on my monk. Guess what keeps happening? Then I got an error i couldn’t rez. He respawned as I typed this. Didn’t attack him as I’m dead. Got the weapon. Had to rez at the spirit healer. Sigh lol

Nathanos?

I forgot he was even part of the event tbh.

Blizzard makes content. You pay for the content they are providing. They are not obligated to provide you with personally tailored content, as they determine the service they are providing. If you do not like the services they are providing, you don’t have to pay for them.

This game has always had a PvP aspect. That they even bothered to make War Mode an aspect of the game was ultimately their decision, and they can choose to revoke it at any time. This is not the first time they have prompted a Scourge invasion (it is the third time, if I recall correctly), and each time they have tried to tailor it and adjust it to suit whatever story they are trying to tell. They have done so with previous pre patches, and will continue to do so with future ones.

Blizzard will continue to make the game in the image they choose. That they even bother to listen to player feedback and shift the game to suit their player base is their choice as a company. I feel the need to reiterate: If you do not like the product, stop paying for it. Get a refund if that will make you happy, then go find a game that doesn’t run PvP content as part of its core. (This is called World of Warcraft, after all).

Don’t do the content? You’re out!

Most of the BfA content that remains isn’t hindered by the prepatch anyhow.

Not that it’s particularly important to gear super high in preparation for Shadowlands.

Pvp at its core my behind. If that was the case even in SL pvp players wouldn’t be essentially forced to do pve to gear decently for pvp. Also… in wrath they ended it early cuz of complaints, gave free game time cuz we couldn’t play, and promised to never do it again. They lied. Which is why everyone is complaining.
