If you think me using transmog invalidates my post then you haven’t been paying attention. That’s why I stated they’re not comparable. You play fashion because you want others to see you, which is something I don’t care about.
Let’s look back at what I was replying to.
I was referring solely to your insult towards others.
You play fashion because you want others to see you, which is something I don’t care about.
If it’s something you don’t care about, why make a thread asking to not see other people’s mog? Because you do care. If you didn’t, seeing other people’s mog wouldn’t bother you.
If transmog ruins your immersion, maybe WoW isn’t the game for you anymore. It’s grown over 20 years to be more than “Orcs and Humans” as you mentioned as a theme you loved about Warcraft.
Playing dress up isn’t an insult. It’s quite literally what transmog is.
I don’t care about people seeing what I wear. Read carefully.
Playing dress up isn’t an insult.
It is always used as an insult in this game. You attempt to hide behind smiley faces, yet you’ve proven time and time again that you will insult and demean others.
I hope you can find better tolerance in game and life.

Why is this community always so ready to punt people who ask for a small change that would help their enjoyment of the game and affect no one? …
We’re almost 400 replies in, nothing more for me to say that hasn’t been said. As said numerous times, I expressed an opinion. You’re entitled to your own opinion and views. It’s fine if you don’t agree, lol. Some of you see every post on this forum as an opportunity to make the time pass by. Continuously derailing, picking apart comments, and misinterpreting. Big yikes.

Just throwing it out there as a chance. I constantly evaluate my relationship with this game and the changes they make on whether it still is what I want from it.
The OP mentioned countless times that they don’t like a lot of the mog in this game, that is a change in art direction. The art direction has changed drastically over 30 years. It’s possible the OP has outgrown it but doesn’t want to give up on WoW because it’s been 30 years of Warcraft.
If transmog was meant to be hidden from other players, it would have been implemented when it was introduced in patch 4.3 almost 13 years ago. As Sendryn has said multiple times transmog is a means for people to express themselves in a video game, which is meant for fun. Why would they add a new feature goes against the core themes of transmog just because someone doesn’t like “Fortnite style mogs?”

The more whimsical mogs didn’t exist 13 years… that’s new, and only exists from store and trading post mogs. So they’re an add on… not part of the core story aesthetic of WoW. If they were, you’d see those mogs on NPCs and in cut scenes.
The consensus seems to be though that peoples need to express themselves through transmog is more important then my preference to not see them…
different centaur (the ones on Kalimdore are said to be the result of a union between a son of Cenarius and the daughter of Therazene, where as the dragon Isle ones trace there lines back to Terei and Maruk)
What’s convergent evolution doing in WoW!?
PS - mogs should disappear when combat starts like Dracthyr human form.

Goofy has always been a core story aesthetic of WoW, since day 1. Now we’re just able to look more goofy. You’re posting on a playable race which is mostly used as comic relief.

The consensus seems to be that you’re playing an MMO, which is an online game. You’re not meant to be able to control how everyone else displays their character on a permanent basis, otherwise toys wouldn’t have excessively long cool downs with short durations. I would love an example from any other multiplayer/online video game in which you get to choose how you view another person’s character on a permanent basis.
Woah be careful op.
I made a similar thread asking for the same thing and all the posters who scream for more options and toggles said “NoOOoO I need a reason to receive attention from strangers!”
What complete nonsense. People want more options and toggles to better control their own character expression.
What you want is to control other players. I dunno, that just feels sus to me.

Why does your expression require everyone to look at it?
I don’t want a world that has a serious premise to have people running around in pool party outfits.
No wonder all these big bads keep trying to take over Azeroth… We’re a bunch of idiots fighting evil with pool toys.
Why does your expression require everyone to look at it?
It doesn’t?
Oh is this the part where we just completely ignore this is an MMO got it.

Why can’t I toggle it off?
Why can’t I toggle it off?
You can. Toggle it off for yourself. Ez
Why can’t I toggle it off?
Could you provide me with an example of any other online game in which you get to permanently change how other player characters appear on your screen?
otherwise toys wouldn’t have excessively long cool downs with short durations
I think this one is just because Blizzard hates fun.
Even the ones that only change my own appearance have excessively long cooldowns with short durations.
Several games have the ability to change how others look. EQ1 has the ability to turn off transmogs and change if people are using new or old designs.
EQ2 does the character design changes too. (Less new and old more anime inspired vs not).
Why do you care if your transmog is visible to people who hate transmogs and think it ruins the experience?
You and your friends can still be stylish. We’re not your audience.
