I mean if someone wants to swap to show off a mog, or post something specific about a class they play in a class thread, that is all pretty innocent.
But I have watched someone create a troll thread and after it sat for awhile where no one responded, they hopped to an alt to reply to their own bloody OP, trying to pretend they were a completely different person so it would drum up some bickering.
Someone yesterday said “I’m gonna go post a (thread that will rile GD up)”, hopped on an alt, and did just that. Same person was called out for switching around in another similar thread and contradicting their posts purely to incite more bickering.
It’s also irritating when you have to put multiple characters on ignore because they like to swap around, pretending they are multiple people.
I wasn’t either for a lot of reasons, but players clearly can’t be trusted. As far as harassment goes, the worst someone can do is try to send a friend invite on btag. They can’t send you a message or see anything about you unless you accept. Could be annoying if you accidentally added the wrong person, but it is almost a necessary evil in my opinion.
Why am I not surprised that the OP is asking for this…

You can’t do that now anyway, if you look when your posting. There is a chain symbol where the heart would be. So you can’t love your own posts. Not that I’ve tried, there isn’t any heart there to do that with. Pretty sure the chain symbol is there to prevent that now.

I thought they fixed that because your on the same account.
Although I must admit I wouldn’t mind being able to remove battle pets when your not doing them.
Since you can’t I’ve never put my battle pets back in and I lost a part of the game I did enjoy.

That’s why I said troll away, read thru my 8k+ posts and you’ll see I’m almost always a jerk but also almost always right
Someone tired of getting caught being a troll?

Nope I post on this character and only this character.
I’m not trying to troll, I’m trying to win some of my arguments I feel are right. They might not be right, but for me it’s my position and I’m trying to support it.

Even if they got rid of the pet lineup in the armory, there are lots of other armory info that are used to link toons to accounts.
Blizzard got rid of the obvious variables that allowed casual viewers to link toons. But the devs will always continue to allow more sophisticated armory data aggregators to track and link toons to accounts because it is in the devs’ own interest.

Option to hide leg armor.
Let’s go.
i think that post was aimed at the op, not at you
Keep your bank toons under level 10 and you can avoid prying eyes and an armory listing.
i find there to be some massive irony with this thread.
all the usual culprits have been too paranoid to spam hearts with their alts.
oops sorry.
I’d rather get it from people that do enjoy some of what I post.
Besides I’m getting older and don’t have it in me anymore to fight the good fight to save a portion of Warcraft I love.

I find that trust level as meaningful as friends complimenting friends in high school - all it means is that you have time and you spend it on the forums, and have a modicum of skill to follow posted rules. It does not stand for discernment.
Honestly, what a horrid metric.
it’s part of this yuck software… not something which blizzard created.
the switch to this software has been detrimental in so many ways.
100% agreed. Whoever made the decision to purchase such software must have had unbelievably bad options to have chosen this company’s board product.
