Opinion: This expac is like 100 times better than BFA

Legion was worse than WoD. That’s when the real sub-lengthening grinds started.

To be fair they had grinds + tons of proper content.

In BFA, the grinds got bigger and content which was unique dwindled. The flimsy balance in Legion was lost.

People look favorably upon WoD because there was literally no content to judge lol.

Garrisons made gathering/professions irrelevant.

Garrison Mission tables made playing the game outside logging into your phone irrelevant.

World quests were literally the same way every day and took maybe 15 min to complete.

Huge content gaps.

I’ll say that I’m enjoying this expansion much more than I did BfA.

The zones are more or less on par with BfA so far. I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily better or worse. They do however have less ridiculous numbers of aggressive mobs everywhere. I haaaaated BfA zones for not being able to get out of combat because I couldn’t stop catching aggro.

Class design feels way, waaaaay better to me.

I tend to leave the music on, and the soundtrack for Shadowlands feels significantly better than BfA. I found myself throwing my headphones off in Boralus each time I hearthed in without remembering to turn music off.

That’s not why they did it.

Lowering the amount of gear dropping was actually something that some players asked for.

Yea. Because people hated rng of titan forging.

People would prefer fewer, but more meaningful, drops.

Callings are set up better than emissaries, in that you get a quest, rather than assume everyone will read a map. but its harder to tell which is oldest and going to leave soon.

WoD was outright bad, absolutely no question. But even from the onset of BFA, literally starting as early as pre-patch, I absolutely knew BFA was going to be worse than it.

WoD tried new things and failed. Garrisons, Ashran…

Still bad, but much less bad than ripping most system from the expansion before and actively making them worse. What could be possibly more lazy than Azerite Armor and that stupid necklace? Then slapping on lazy, uninspired system after system ontop of it… from Essences to the abomination that was Corruption.

Yeah no, I have no love for WoD… but I can even think of a few things I fondly remember beyond just art, music and raids (these are usually all good in every expac even BFA)… Glad Stance as an example. First time I ever mained a Warrior and loved it. Also the PvP system was quite good. Legion/BFA’s system was a pure step backwards.

BFA, maybe in time I’ll be able to come up with a single thing I miss… but right now? My only regret was BFA didn’t end a year before it did.

I hate the direction that the game took but feel Legion was a good expansion content-wise. I preferred WoD for its casual PvP but recognize why a lot of people with less PvP focus would enjoy the class halls and, as much as I hated the systems, felt having a weapon that increases in strength had a cool fantasy feel like Arthur and Excalibur or Elric and Stormbringer.

You are comparing 8.3 state of the game to 9.0. Do you think Blizzard is not going to add any more stuff to Shadowlands?

Shadowlands has (as of 9.0). Covenants, Legendries, and Soul Binds. As borrowed power. Not only that but soul binds have an IL associated with them, so you are already going to grind those all xpac to keep upgrading them.

On average, WoD had the longest pvp seasons… which traditionally is not associated with good pvp.

Legion as a expansion was at the bottom of my list in terms of expansions prior to Shadowlands. Shadowlands is far worse than Legion.

I am going to bet you like to do dungeons.

You appear to be talking for more people than just you. I loved titanforging. I don’t waste my time doing content for which I don’t feel rewarded - hence no Shadowlands for me.

It is 1000 times better than BFA. But the Maw is 1000 times worse than visions and nazjatar combined.

FYI this is the worst xpac X.0 release imo. Even worse then legion was in 7.0.

I think SL is better than BfA so far, but it’s not like that’s saying a whole lot. Watching paint dry or grass grow was more enjoyable at times than BfA was.

You are the minority.
Very few people actually like RNG. shrug

And do you have a source for that statement, i.e. very few people actually like RNG?

That is sort of the same thing as your original where you tried to speak for everyone.

But that’s like saying being in a coma is 10000x better than being dead. Which objectively maybe you’re right but as to how much that’s debatable.

100 times 0 is still 0 lmaoo ill see myself out

I have complaints but yes easily better than BFA. Of course part of that is the transition: Legion -> BFA was a serious bummer, BFA -> SL is an easy improvement; Legion -> SL would have been a closer call.
