Disclaimer: This is just my personal opinion. This is not a post to say “I like it so why are you hating on the expac”. It’s a post to say I like it and I acknowledge that you have problems with it…if you do and they’re valid.
After the likes of Legion, BFA to me was more of “I hope it gets better” with my choice being the wrong decision to…well being subbed throughout most of BFA.
While Shadowlands isn’t really top tier or is a couple of years early to even talk about as being in the range of Legion, WOTLK etc. it has started off quite well. The zones are well designed as usual and there’s a pretty decent story to go with it and I actually want to login and play while I was bored the moment I saw Boralus.
Quite enjoying the content except well obviously the Maw and Torghast but I can live with it. I find them not bad and I’m not bored at the thought of trying them out compared to Island Expeditions and Warfronts.
Callings are basically reskinned Emissaries which is strange as they could have kept the old system but who knows. The covenants should have stuck to being exclusive for story, cosmetics and other miscellaneous stuff but hey can’t have it all your way.
So I’ve had a good experience so far. So far it’s pretty decent. Keep it up Blizz
I guess the coolest option of making you feel great about your class and stuff? Order halls. Unique story content and large amounts of non repetitive content.
That’s what made Legion great and in the league of great expacs like WOTLK.
I think they did it right this time. Always will be room for improvement.
But rep is connected to cosmetic rewards again. Anima power has an RP vibe to it even if it’s similar to artifact power in ways. The story is very interesting to me with characters/plots I’m looking forward to seeing develop…unlike BfA.
While I’m enjoying the alternate way to level my alts, I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s better than BFA… I’ll give it a few patches of new content before I give my vote of confidence…
That’s completely fair imo. I personally was burnt out from BfA within the first 2 weeks. Was only 8.2 (and after) that gave it some new life for me. SL, I am still pumped to keep going…but it can pan out way worse, for all we know.
Well they seem to be going towards a more progress oriented version of gearing with the Vault. I’m not sure if it’s as good as the token system of WoW which was in BC and WOTLK.
The worse thing was sitting on “upgrade” I could never use because of the wrong corruption. I held an “upgrade” for 4 weeks at the end of BfA, and never wore it because I missed the corruption vendor rotation that week.
Yeah everyone thinks this is better than BfA because that expansion was so bad that if you set the bar that low then anything Blizzard throws at you is going to be good.
Shadowlands is easily bottom of the barrel when it comes to expansions and a month from now the tune of this forum is going to change to anti-SL so quick.
It had problems, but it felt pretty decent overall especially as they updated systems to be more friendly. It had issues, but they weren’t overly glaring. It was also a marketed improvement over WoD in how much work it felt like they put into the game as opposed to loltwitter patch.
The grind was fine and really not infinite. By ToS I think I was done with AP on each spec since future levels were literally just gravy for the proc size, but it was SUPER minimal.
