I should have phrased this better. I actually meant I was bored everytime I logged in to Boralus it kind of sapped the energy from me.
Logging in to previous expacs or Order Hall actually revitalized me.

the first three weeks have been a whole lot more fun than bfa’s first three weeks so far for me.
a lot of it is me having the legendary i wanted instead of waiting for rng to give me the one i wanted.
thats all i can say for now. gotta wait and see.

Oh wow yeah. It was bad to have Legendaries gated behind RNG in legion and the corruptions gated behind timegates in BFA.
This time people can actually make progress to try all of their chances for a specific legendary.
No. They lowered the drop rate because drops are more meaningful, which means you actually have to play less.
You don’t remember spamming normal/heroic /lower key dungeons because it could drop titanforged mythic gear?
Now when you get an upgrade… you got an upgrade and can move on to higher content.
Legion was trash, and it’s child was even worse, this expansion has some promise.

I agree.
It’s not perfect. I have my issues with it. But BFA was a rolling trashfire that’s made every bad thing Blizzard done stink a little less by comparison.
If things hold steady, Shadowlands will settle into a nice spot for me.
WOTLK > BC > Legion > Shadowlands > MoP > Cata > Politically Correct Comedy Hour > WoD > Painful Dental Procedure > Constipation > BFA.

This is the first expansion that I have thoroughly enjoyed in awhile, and can honestly say that I am actually excited / having fun when I log in.
While it is to early to tell if it will continue to be that way, I can honestly say that I am liking every aspect of it, Yes. Maw & Torg included.
There are some flaws and tweaks that need to be made but that will come in time and hopefully (fingers crossed) for the better.

I’ve enjoyed the leveling experience. Haven’t done much at 60 yet.

SL feels like the second major patch of cata, which was very solid, not perfect, but enjoyable.
I mean it’s a low bar to compare it to against BFA. A good portion of people consider BFA among the worst (if not the worst) expac thus far.
Personally to me BFA wasn’t as bad as WoD and I liked it better then Cata but it was not a good expansion. Azerite gear and corruptions weren’t that great and every single BFA patch you were chasing a new form of borrowed power:
- BFA release: Heart of Azeroth + Azerite gear
- First major patch: let’s add essences
- Last major patch: let’s add corruption and visions
Sure Shadowlands has alot of currencies to manage but atleast there is only one major power mechanic we are chasing in terms of legendaries.

If I was game director and was forced to release BFA I would have done this:
BFA release: Heart of Azeroth + Essences + azerite not required for gear
First major patch: Catchup for essences + let’s add corruption and visions for 8.2
Last major patch: Catch up for everythingNothing can be worse than WoD.
WoD was so bad it should have been FTP.
In fact it shared several characteristics of FTP games.
I actually like this as it feels a bit more like an RPG and a little bit less like one where my map gives me quests.

BFA was basically WoD with “We shouldn’t cut content like we did in WoD or we’re toast so let’s just go ahead and force content on people whether they like it or not”.
Maybe you’re right. But it ended up in a way where people fondly remember WoD when they look at…BFA !
