title, i want to play my characters from classic with my friends
Guess you’ll have to buy a transfer then
Can’t do that either. Its been widely reported that paid transfers off Grob haven’t been working for over a week now. Everyone on Grob is currently trapped there and its been radio silence from Blizz concerning the issue.
i already have, they do not work
Seriously. They need to either connect Grobb to the mega server or offer free transfers off. 47k vs 6k is downright depressing
Biggest failure since you think you do but you dont…
Worst mistake they made in all of Classic. So terribly executed and not a peep from them even smh…
I think we’ve reached the point where we need to just start slamming @s at @BlizzardCS and @FwoiblesWoW and @Zirene on twitter, since it seems to be the only thing short of being a content creator for the Midnight alpha thats getting blues to pay attention at the moment.

Mr. Ellis almost certainly has his notifications on mute, but what else is there to do?
they said they will open up transfers if they see the need to but they wanted to see at least the first month what people want. Do you even read?
Sweet, so I have to let my game time roll for a month, even though I bought transfers off the server? My characters have to be held hostage so a pvp server can have a few more horde closer to “balance”?
I think the flaw in this logic is it assumes compitence on thier part. I think its just broken and its easier to just ignore.
You aren’t wrong, this indie developer just launched a new game too so it’s all hands on deck over there
Whats the rush? Let us off, but no I didnt see that. lol
Bump let us off
I do, Marubtw.
I especially read the support page for paid server transfers, since Fwoibles post about not offering transfers yet specifically referred to free character migrations.
And the support page for paid server transfers in classic progression, which was updated right when Fwoibles made the announcement, says that paid server transfers are able to target any server.
But they aren’t.
Do you even read?
Or make a PvP server in the Chicago data center, though I suppose the idea that people on PvP servers selected the appropriate server type seems dead now.

Tbf a lot of people on Grobb came during TBC when a lot of servers were shut down. Grobb had a healthy raiding population back then which was the selling point for a lot of players. That’s obviously no longer the case so those same players want to go play on the mega server.
Also, I’m east coast playing on Grobb and ping is like 70ms/70ms. It’s not amazing but it’s not awful and most people would barely notice it.
Yet most people seemed to take the free transfers to the Normal server, not the PvP server. That is quite disappointing. I’m disappointed in all of those people as a community.

I think that’s more of a reflection on wanting to play where the most players are. At this point, we’ve all been through multiple server consolidations and the mega server will have the highest chance at long term survival. With people already having to sacrifice guild banks/achievements/etc and character names, it’s only natural to not want to have to go through that again in a few years (assuming Classic is still around then). Is it disappointing that Grobb didn’t get more people? Of course, but I understand why people would choose the mega server.
Sure, but it also shows that people don’t care about PvP servers. It’s inexcusable to me that people would willingly stay on or transfer to Normal servers from PvP servers. It’s just not something I could look at as a reasonable stance for anyone who actually prefers the PvP rule set.
Am I being a sulking baby about it? Sure. I’m disappointed in everybody who opted to follow the crowd or lead the crowd away from PvP servers. I’m greatly disappointed in the Sr. Game Producer who echoed the meme that PvP servers were effectively PvE servers, and who lead this charge.
It’s disappointing the way the whole thing was framed, and orchestrated, and it’s disappointing how it turned out. It’s disappointing that there’s a development team that would do this, and it’s disappointing that there’s a community that would take it.
Well, me too. And I find that to be lacking respectability.
