Would love another layer on Herod for primetime, I’d rather play a weird half-split server than play the queue game.
Yes please. 2 layers will be perfectly fine. Temporary fix for a temporary issue
yea, unfortunately they backed themselves into a corner with that one. paid xfers should have been locked on whitemane, incendius, and faerlina weeks if not months ago.
Layering would be a great temporary fix to this temporary problem we are having. Sure there are negatives like the economy or people trying to abuse a system. However trying to manage staying online for hours on end or to log in at the perfect time while waiting in a 4 hour queue to raid isnt fun. People will just give up and revenue will be lost. Please implement layering on the select servers.
Free transfers didn’t ruin incendius. The mass influx of coordinated alliance transfers from 3 separate servers did.
The most popular times are typically during raid times for most guilds. Is it possible to have measures that don’t count those within instances against the pop cap?
Maybe there’s some form of queue bypass for those just logging in to raid, where they’re unable to recieve loot outside instances, can’t gather nodes, can’t gain exp/honor and have a limited amount of time to enter a raid before they’re “AFK’d” out. Some form of way to prevent this from being abused by others.
All others who want to be in the open world and experience the game as usual would be required to wait, but since the instanced players don’t count for pop, the queues would be significantly reduced.
I’m sure there’s lots of holes in this line of thinking, as there was with layering, but it would appease many who didn’t like the abuse of layering that happened previously, while allowing more players to enjoy the game.
“Wouldnt layering as needed just encourage more people to play on already full servers?”
Most servers with the higher queues have had paid transfers turned off. So an influx of new players would not be an issue to servers such as Whitemane.
Yes, I am going to stop playing over hour queue times every night
Layering is awful. My realm has a que. Stop screwing up the game with your retail solutions.
exactly this. ruined one of the few 50/50 ratio servers and turned it into a 60/40 one which then caused a major horde exodus.
Ony buffs on a timer, buffs in general not persisting through death, a pvp system that rewards people for unhealthy playtimes…yeah, not everything in Vanilla was good design. If the original devs had the tools that Blizzard does now, you can bet they would have used them.
But Whitemane (and a few others) already have insane queues and transfers are locked to them.
Locking transfers is a fix for a future problem not an immediate queue problem.
Layers please
Give us a way to stop layer abuse and have as many layers as you want lmao
Definitely, thats why i am hoping for layering at least temporarily. I’d rather not feel like I need to leave a server I’ve been on since day one to play the game.
Yes, please add layers again. I only log in to raid, and to get buffs for raids. Orgrimmar lags every time an Ony/Ned head is about to drop. If I can’t log into raid or get raid buffs, I’ll play something else and unsubscribe eventually…
Give layers on whitemane, people have to log on at 1pm to be on time to a 6:30pm raid
Yes please add layering back in
5-6 hour queues make the game unplayable on whitemane
Sorry to have to correct you with the same ole retort, but lets be clear that it isn’t the current circumstances that created this problem once again. Blizzard created this problem from the beginning by not properly being prepared for the demand that most of the player base warned you guys about by not regulating populations and offering enough servers at launch.
It would not improve player experience at all, it would once again simply shift the players gain in experience of being able to enter a realm to the hordes of layer hop farmers creating and an even worse off AH economy in addition to world PvP dodging just like you forced on us from launch. Keep your retail solutions out of a non-retail environment.
Figure out a way to fix either of the aforementioned while also achieving your solution to keep your servers stable and accessible? Once again I wish you good luck with that!
I am 100% for layering!!
