Open Question: An Alternative to Queues?

Alternative to queues: DO SOMETHING ABOUT ALL THE BOTS FOR ONCE!

no. no layering ever. do not listen to the people. make the game for the game, the people will follow. if you make the game for the people, they will take what they can and then leave.

I don’t know… maybe had you capped servers to reasonable numbers and released more servers at the start than you did maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation. The only reason people are going to these big servers are because theirs are dying due to people flocking to mega servers. Cap the servers and tell people that if they don’t want Q’s move to another server. Stop pandering to everyone complaining about Q times. If they don’t want a Q time then they and their friends are more than welcome to transfer to a less populated server. I remember a time in vanilla when Blizzard opened new servers due to Q’s on our vanilla size servers and after we didn’t move enough we were told “transfer or we will transfer you with no guarantee that your friends will be moved with you”. That made us transfer. Stop giving in and fix the problem. There are solutions to the Q. There are servers with little to no Alliance and little to no Horde. Transfer or stop complaining.

With over half the available servers being low pop or faction skewed, the only approach that will permanently fix this issue is to enable free or forced transfers from the higher population realms. Layering isn’t a fix in the long run.

Yes, I would say add a layer every time there is a que. At this stage in the game people need at least the ability to play the game when they have time to, not sit in que or miss raids.

That and maybe banning all the bots would help.

Please, for the love of God, bring back layers to high pop servers. 6 hour queues are insane. How can that be justified for players paying $15/month? AQ release/Silithus will be an utter nightmare as is. Please.

hi, i would like to be able to play the game that i am paying a monthly subscription fee to play. any help is much appreciated thanks in advance

There’s a system working perfectly fine in BfA. With the number of people on a server, is someone REALLY going to notice the difference between someone on their server and someone on a different one? Are they even going to actually remember either person?

Yes. That’s exactly what used to happen before CRZ. You would see familiar faces out in the world, even on the opposite faction, and it made the game so much better than the game world being infested with randos from other realms that you can’t trade or interact with that you’d never see again. CRZ was one of the biggest mistakes Blizzard ever made. It can not happen with Classic.

Bring back layers on full realms.

I came to Classic because I wanted server community, which does not exist in retail.

I could not agree more with this. I was not a fan of CRZ unless it was used to save a dead server, basically. Servers in classic/tbc absolutely need to remain separate and autonomous. One of the most appealing aspects of classic wow is server community and despite the huge increase in player caps from what they were in vanilla, the community aspect of servers is still present, just imo to a lesser degree.

CRZ is something I’ve never really liked about retail. I think servers should exist independently from one another, and only in very specific situations should realms be “paired” with each other utilizing CRZ. Just my 2c. I realize this is really off-topic with regard to layering but I saw the comment and had to agree with it. As of right now on Herod, queues aren’t really present during the off-days in the week. On Tuesday though, the queues are back to starting at like 6pm EST and are still getting excessive enough to cause hour long queues.

Edit: I say that and there’s a queue of like 500+ on Herod on a Wednesday which I don’t think most guilds raid on. So yeah, queues are still an issue.

To prevent abuse of layering, i’d suggest you only make that possible in any of the major towns for either side. Yes it means people will have to go back, to change layers for group content. But it also means people won’t be able to abuse it for personal gain.

People would just do elaborate schemes with warlock summons… you underestimate the sweaty neckbeards

I want to play the game not sit in q.

I want to get world buffs not wait in 11 minutes of lag for the boss to walk and the buff to hand out.

Like come on wtf is going on.

Layering if queue over 30 - 60 minutes.

Whitemane has an 850 person queue at 3:50 pm PST on a Wednesday. Yesterday, 5:21, it was almost a 4 hour queue. Fix your game or i’m taking my money elsewhere.
