ONLY CLASS in WotlK w/o viable/desireable DPS Spec

Simply put, Retribution Paladin would largely benefit from a buff. We ask kindly Blizzard for you to please reconsider this.

Issues:
Of all DPS Specializations in WotlK, Paladin is the ONLY CLASS without a viable or desireable Dps Representative for raids. Why is this? Respectfully, Paladin having strong Healing & Tanking Specializations does not answer why Paladin is the lone class in WotlK without a viable DPS Spec. Clawing & scratching to out-DPS the tank should not be the case in Wotlk. Re-rolling or re-speccing should not be the respectable solution when every other class in the game has a DPS Spec (or multiple) that work effectively at doing superior or even satisfactory damage. Paladin in the only One-DPS Specialization Class that even when played optimally, still has fight to out-dps the tank only to be bottem of the barrel by far.

What we ask?
I feel like I speak for most Retribution Paladins when I say we would like to see a buff to single target damage. We do not ask to be overpowered, top meters or become stackable. We simply ask to have respectable DPS. We ask to be do more damage than some of the class specializations with two or three DPS options compared to Paladin’s one-and-only DPS spec option.

Options to accomplish this without compromising the other Paladin specializations?

-Buff to “Sactity of Battle” increasing Crusader Strike & Exorcism damage.
-Buff to “Crusader Strike” weapon damage up from 75% making it a true priority over Divine Storm in Single-Target situations.
-Allow Righteous Vengeance to scale with haste and/or increase additional damage above 30%.
-Allow Ret to cast “Hand of Reckoning” without taunting.
-Buff “Sanctified Wrath”
-Reintroduce Sanctity Aura?

Summary
We don’t feel as if this is too much to ask for. We don’t want the world. Just a simple buff to single target damage to accomplish respectable damage. Blizzard, I kindly ask you to consider this as WotlK has already seen its share of wonderful and meaningful changes. We learned from Wow Classic that no-changes was not what we wanted and we hope the notion of that continues here.

Andddddd paladin is one of the only classes that has all 3 specs actively bought to raids. QQ more rets, you chose a spec that does low dmg, that’s on you for not researching/being an edgy teenager that wants to RP as a holy knight, but stop saying ret isn’t viable. It is 100% viable. frost and sub aren’t viable, beast mastery hunters aren’t viable and they aren’t bought to raids at all. Ret is viable and is bought to raids regularly.

i like prot warrior, Specally on fights like Thorim where mobility is nice. Prot warrior is fine. They can do every boss on heroic mode. Look at tankspot videos they all had a prot warrrior.

idk my guild is desperate for a ret paladin. Problem is 90% of them have no idea what they’re doing. They can’t even press dsac when it’s needed.

I dont play a paladin but what if they took away your ability to bubble and replaced that bubble ability (for ret paladins) as a bubble of double or triple damage - so during the “bubble” timer, you arent immuned but you do double/triple crit damage strikes, would that make you reckdum (I mean retsomething) paladins happy?

Frost and Sub are PvP specs, BM shined in TBC, it had its time, it also has two very viable specs in a raid setting. The same applies to Sub/Frost, they can literally just swap to another spec and do damage. My guild already has its tanks and healers so my option to do somewhat respectable dps is to reroll. Am I going to reroll? Not unless my guild asks me too.

I knew what I was getting into when I swapped in TBC. My guild was in need of a token ret. I knew what patch we were getting. I knew about all the nerfs ret received throughout OG Wrath. The only thing I didn’t know and i’m sure others didn’t as well was how far behind it is compared to other specs. It is a complete raid tier behind everyone in full Ulduar bis. I personally don’t think it’s healthy to be THAT behind everyone else. I don’t mind being the bottom, but I do mind being a raid tier behind others. You can say it’s fine all you want, but its not.

Would I like to see a buff? Yes, but honestly, only a small buff that keeps us in line with others and makes us a somewhat competitive dps spec that has the potential to see themselves on the meters besides a few fights in ulduar. I personally think ret is in a somewhat decent place they just need a small damage buff. They’ve got amazing utility, they’re unironically best in slot for 10M content, and have some use in some 25M Ulduar HMs, but past prog, they have almost zero reason to be brought if you already run 1 prot/2 hpallies.
