Only 1 SOD boost was given

Same here. Two separate accounts with separate game time subscriptions, and both have multiple Balnazzar clears (full SE clears actually).

Only got to use one boost on one of the accounts, even though I saw the boost icon on both accounts character screens.

Yeah I have had two responses today.

ā€œI understand where you are coming from, but in this instance it was always intented for there only being one obtainable Boost per Battle.net account, no matter how many active/paying WoW Account you might have on that same Battle.net account, more on this matter can be found here:
h ttps://support.blizzard.com/article/000377484ā€
And it linked to a support page that doesn’t work. Then they replied with

"Thanks for contacting us at Blizzard Entertainment, this is Game Master Ziphrtim here to help you

I understand that you’re contacting us today in regards to your concern over the missing boost.

We have got a few reports that the post was a little bit confusing. Which is why we wanted to clear it up previously.

The boost provided once and only once per battle.net account, which can only be used on classic progression characters only.

Regarding the link. As there are a large influx of players visiting this same link, it may be down. I’d recommend trying again later within the day."

The first response I got which is the only helpful GM in my mind with the matter was this.

"Thank you for contacting us. I hope you’re having a great day. You have summoned Game Master Chraendan for assistance. Let’s take care of your petition.

I understand that after defeating Dreadlord Balnazzar on two of your characters, Littlespoonz and Topsycritz, you were expecting to receive two level 85 character boosts. As a long-time veteran of Azeroth, I absolutely understand how important these rewards are and I appreciate you reaching out for clarification.

So, I did some digging into this and would like to clarify that according to the criteria, players who defeated Dreadlord Balnazzar in the Season of Discovery by June 30 are eligible to receive one Level 85 Character Boost (Progression) per active World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time account, delivered on July 1, 2025.

This means that even if you have multiple characters who completed the encounter, only one boost will be granted per active subscription or Game Time account. Multiple kills do not result in multiple boosts.

That said, if you maintain two separate active WoW subscriptions, each of those accounts should qualify for one boost, but the key here is that each must be a separate account with its own Game Time. If both characters are on the same subscription, then only one boost is granted.

For more details, I’d recommend checking out the following article from Wowhead, which breaks down the eligibility and reward distribution clearly: ht tps://www.wowhead.com/classic/news/earn-a-level-85-character-boost-in-mists-of-pandaria-classic-by-defeating-377050

I hope I could clarify this for you. Please, feel free to contact us again if you have any other request, doubt or feedback. We’re always ready to help you. Take care!"

You can see that the first GM knew what they were talking about and it was an actual person from what I can tell and the rest were just chatgpt responses.

So basically one GM said it was intended for only one per battle.net account (which is not what their post said) and the other GM copied you the same articles we already read and said one per game subscription and then closed the ticket with no resolution… got it, nice

I, too, received the same issue and had the same responses from the GM who handled my ticket. This is not just unfortunate but false advertising. They could easily have put ā€œper battle.net accountā€ on the original post if that was what they intended. This seems like the response you get when they know they screwed up but are trying to sweep it under the rug.

I can confirm these GMs are giving conflicting information. One told me they only saw one achievement and I was screwed. Then the other (more recent) reply states that they will fix it but it will take time. It does feel like the first GM was not being truthful and they only caved when I pressed the issue and linked logs of my boss kills. Terrible look by Blizzard. They need to fix this.

Basically the same deal here almost verbatim on fixing it and taking time.

Edit: I made a post on it in the Classic bug forums…

My second account got its boost when I just logged in.

I was given my second boost too. Thank the lord.

I have also been battling with GM’s regarding this issue. I have 2 accounts linked onto one Bnet account and I leveled a toon on each and killed Balnazzar. Here are my responses.

I see that you were expecting to get the Mists of Pandaria Character Boost from defeating Balnazzar on both of your World of Warcraft accounts, however you didn’t receive it on your account, despite your good time and effort put in during Season of Discovery.

I’ve had a good check into things and, I can let you know that the free Balnazzar Boost can only be earned once on a single Battle.net account, regardless of how many WoW accounts are active/defeat Balnazzar. I can certainly understand that the wording on this is confusing, and hope that I’ve been able to provide some clarity.

This is Game Master Ranygyzo. I previously reviewed your case about not obtaining an additional boost for Cataclysm in your BNET account.

I can understand that this was mentioned prior but the reality we are facing now is much much different, our devs made a huge change not too long ago and published this article in Spanish explaining the situation better: (insert article link)

I know this answer is not ideal, but we as Customer Support work with the fixes and updates made from our second team, hoping for your understanding. If you have any other questions or need help with anything else in the future, just let us know. GMs have been created to help you in any way we can.

(BTW this article did not expand on anything and it was only posted in spanish LOL)

Hope your day’s treating you well, I’m Game Master Aeadidru, I’ve followed your case.

You’re right that the original messaging around the Level 85 Character Boost could’ve been clearer, and I apologize for the confusion it caused. To clarify, the way this promotion works is that one free boost is granted per Battle.net account not per character or WoW subscription as previously shared. While we value your effort and of course your time invested to obtain the boost, I must clarify that us Game Masters, we’re not able to provide compensation for this case.

We truly appreciate your understanding and patience. Would also like to acknowledge the long time you’ve been with us, truly and deeply appreciated. Please take care and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other issue or doubt.

I was just going to drop the issue until I found this forum post and see a few have gotten their second boost. There would be no need to go through all of these tickets had they just put on the post 1 boost per BNET account, but that is not the case and we should be compensated for our second or + accounts killing Balnazzar.

Yeah if you indeed got multiple paid subs with multiple kills keep putting in tickets. I thought it was hopeless until I logged in last night and it was there. I even had them both be apart of the same raid just different characters different accounts.

Just got my other boost rn!
