I used to donate to causes. Wounded warriors, FD and PD associations, WWF, ASPCA, DAV and few others. Then they sold my name, so they can go twist.

:apple: . .

i used to buy every charity pet and gift them to all my friends as well, because i love the game and want to support their charity efforts. however, now… laying off employees for bigger stock gains for bigger bonuses really turned me off lately. i’m still debating as i type this. OK. i’ll give something. after all, i already received one pet.

The plus side is you are donating ‘directly’ to the foundation. :stuck_out_tongue:

I really wish that some of the Blizzard higher ups (you know who at this point) would just give the rest out of pocket. If players can raise almost $1 million when some of these people are getting literally hundreds of millions it would really be cool if they could at least help out if for nothing else other than good press.

Hit the nail on the head. I would of spent 20.00 each for the pets knowing for sure I got something in return. Don’t like the uncertainty of whether or not you get a pet.
Yes it is a good organization. But it is my money and only I get to decide how to spend it.

Home - Camp Phoenix
I donate 1k-2k each year to this non-profit. They help low income kids (in the Oakland area) retain their education through the summer with camps, tutoring, etc. One of the founders is a friend of mine and I can personally attest that they are always broke and live in a tiny apartment.

Now what’s yours? You do mine and I’ll do yours.

Yet when they had that design the forum thread was: “Blizzard is just ripping us off and pocketing all the funding. Bet they don’t pass on a quarter of the take! Shady book-keeping, rabble, rabble.”

So yeah. Now we have this model. I do hope you were in the other threads in the past correcting peoples assumptions of wrong-doing and fighting the good fight.

My thoughts are donate if you want to donate, regardless of the outcome, and you can’t be disappointed. If anything, this method feels more altruistic and is gamified. :man_shrugging: But nothing they do will make the entire fan base happy - it’s too large.

He wasn’t trying too… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Just because he mentioned the ceo and how he doesn’t want to pay them, doesn’t mean he’s making the donations (if that’s what you are implying here) look bad and it doesn’t give you the proper license to warrant this overreaction to his comment.

I’ve donated $5 to the donation few months ago because i rather the virus be gone and the daisy pet claws should be bigger, but i think the overreactions from people to other people saying something slightly negative or ambivalent at best is unnecessary as a whole and just a bad look for them because their reactions is making them worse as a character then that person they perceived to be 100% negative if it’s not 100% positive.

I don’t really know if it’s the pet tbh, but you do have a point on this. It just all seems pretty cult-like. Or something like Playstation Fanboys even.

To be frank, i don’t think their should a reward when you do donate. I get that all money donated is good, and it is… but if the reason to donate is to expect a reward back, when the point of donation is to not expect a reward back, i question if it is altruism driving your reason to donate.

Yes, the sloth does look cute, but i think we should be honest with ourselves as you’ve implied here.

It isn’t the reason a lot of people donate, that’s why there are pets involved.
