If someone responds at me, with baseless attacks and maybe not asking for clarification then this would of ended 80 posts ago. I’m not against people donating. Not sure what the drama is about at this point.

YOu do realize that various Charity rating sites rate DWB very high and that 80+ % of the money donated to them actually goes to the services they provide.
None of the money being donated will be touching the hands of anyone at Activision Blizzard including Bobby Kotick because all donations are direct to the charity .

I support your decision ,people are passionate about the pet they want that they don’t mind bring the house down on people with independent thought. They did the same to me not long ago on the subject.

I think people’s mentality has gone from “donating to a good cause” to “I don’t want this company to earn good PR because of this cause”.
That sort of sums up people’s general opinion who are apparently…“against” it.

Honestly, you may be right. Blizzard stands to gain great PR through this cause which is a hundred times more valuable than money in this world. Maybe you are disgusted because the pet is being used as a carrot.
But I think you’re showing your anger in the wrong place. Ultimately, the money goes for supporting people in need.
You know when you should show your disapproval? When they add unnecessary stuff to their store or remove anything creating artificial scarcity. That is when your disapproval makes the most sense.

Thanks for being calm and reasonable in your reply. And I honestly have no disapproval, nor disgust, nor any negative thing in that respect. It was just twisted from what I originally said that I do not trust these big foundations (to clarify, some ceos pocketed a portion etc, should of made my post clearer that I’m not saying this one does). And that if I have the chance, I like to help people directly. Not through a foundation of sorts.
I am also NOT AGAINST anyone donating.
It’s been cool to see the warcraft community throw charity streams etc and banding together to raise to that goal.

It’s quite simple as to why this is drawing money:
A lot of people are by default selfish. They need to be drawn in by something so they willingly donate to something which they would have never done if it was just about a good cause.
Unless these big foundations put out something flashy, very little people part with their money. Right now, it happens to be this pet
