Altruism doesn’t matter as long as the end result is achieved. There will be an extra one million dollar donation to doctors without borders. They are better off than they were before this charity started. Anyone who donated even if it is because they are getting something in return has altruism in their hearts compared to people who never donate once in their life (when they have the means to do so but chose not to.)

And we need to get something straight here. Humans do not have an ounce of purity in their hearts. Everything has a cost associated with it.

Full disclosure -

85% of all donations go directly to the programs
14% go towards fundraising
1% is spent on admin

Doctors without Border’s financials are posted on their website and they are committed to full transparency.

What does the “go towards fundraising” mean…? The company that hosted it or ?

I mean this sincerely, and with no sarcasm or irony…

Seriously, learn to read.

Especially about how MSF operates.

Example:
With MSF, if you’re an MD and would like to donate your time, they will get you to where you’re needed, since many of the places aren’t easily reached via public commercial means.

Unless of course your aim is to be an ignorant troll.

I’d imagine in the sense that most fundraising has overheads. Corporations generally have to outlay some cost for the fundraiser and typically will cover their personal expenses as a portion of the funds raised.

I believe this is typically how “not for profit” or “non-profitable” organisations work. Otherwise it would be infeasible for them to operate if everything came out of their own expenses, instead their overheads and staffing is paid from the funds and then the remainder is donated. Ie captial gain/revenue is released and thus the company doesn’t profit.

Notice he doesn’t deny it. Just attacks me for making the logical assumption that someone who makes excuses not to donate a dollar to doctors helping people probably doesn’t do much themselves to help them.

Screw the pet…these forum posts showing the desperate need for it is much more entertaining then a pet people will showcase for a week and forget.:joy:

And you don’t make an effort to actually read what the post is for and just attack me for it so, what’s the difference… I never made any declaration of such to admit or deny. You are just making me an enemy for no reason.

I never made some moral superiority post. So your post and replies are coming off as you being seriously unhinged.

How can i attack you for a post without reading the post? Such a nonsense argument.

Again, you make excuses why you don’t donate to a charity, but you don’t offer your own solution. Or even any evidence that you’ve tried.

Even if 99% of donations go to some jerks wallet (which they don’t) that 1% is far more help than your nothing.
