One Button Rotation In All of WoW Classic

I know it’s a hot-button topic, but I see the actual need. My hands don’t work the way they used to ever since I got sick nearly 2 years ago. While I usually wasn’t the top player (it happened on occasion, though,) I was never this bad. The joint pain and stiffness combined with the shakes makes it hard to play well.

Note: This isn’t intended to stir the pot. It’s about accessibility.

If you need a one button rotation there are idk… 5 specs in the game that press legit only one button.

Or you could play ret paladin and play the 0 button rotation. (They don’t get raid spots and if they do their damage is so low nobody is scrolling to #30 on the DPS meters so they are basically doing nothing anyways)

For this reason I see no problem with making it available in Classic. Just not forced on anyone. If it’s an option that you can select if you wish that’s fine in my book.

That’s exactly the way it is in Retail.

Oh, hey. Did you hear about Glinda?

Even though I’m sitting out here on the deck by myself I still don’t want people to see me mopping. We didn’t really interact that much in game but I miss him a lot.

I heard and it hurt.

I had just told my students to get to work on some problems, and I got the message from his daughter. Needless to say, I let them go early so I could compose myself for the next class.

Back to the topic, however: Word of mouth is that the 1 button rotation allows you to do enough damage to probably not get kicked, but not enough to be remarkable. I think the nerd rage will die down soon enough.

I’m pretty grateful you both were close and appreciate this game for friends we all make.

Folk I know have said something along these lines but most of them are guilded/mostly play with guild members and believe it has no bearing on their play. So most of their attitude is shrugging then moving on. Seems legit.

I’m playing Alliance on Wild Growth (SoD) currently, if you’d like to check that out.

I think I may have an alt or two there.
Dropped SoD when one of the group I was playing with got popped for flipping gold buying. So stupid and unnecessary it pissed me off and I didn’t log on again.

It gets worse - I know the dude irl.
Gave him hell over it when he was here for vacay over Memorial Day weekend.

Ooof.

Good!

Yeah, SoD is the best version of WoW, in my opinion. I think it’ll retain a loyal player-base for some time.

My main is a ret paladin by the same name.

That may have been part of my frustration.
Lot of people wanna see a Classic+ and this was a close brush with what that could look like.

Runes were meh for me but the additional content developed was the more intriguing part.

I’ll keep that in mind.

The runes were nice because it gave a lot of specs a boost that was asked for since Vanilla. As a ret paladin, I certainly like the abilities it gave me. There’s a new playstyle for ret (Exodin) that focuses around high attack speeds to get Exorcism to hit with very high damage. Now fast 2-handers are desired. It’s not the highest damage of the paladin specs, but it’s easy enough to play, and does well enough.

And yes… It has fewer buttons than most specs, which was gravy on top.

Awesome how that worked out so well for you since ret > most things.
:stuck_out_tongue:

I really believe that if stuff like the one button rotation is under the hood for example in the options menu as a choice rather than a permanent, always on UI change that it won’t interfere with that classic look and feel for players not needing it.

Please consider that, Blizzard.
I’ll stop talking about Wow Killers if it makes you feel better.

Runes themselves were kind of meh but blizzard also admitted that was basically all they could get away with given the limitations for SoD and how much they could change.

They did unlock some cool stuff though like the new class roles and some of the quests were actually pretty cool. As a proof of concept there were some things that definitely could be taken from runes as a success just not the exact implementation.

You shouldn’t need it as vanilla ret. All you do is auto attack anyways

There’s not a problem with it, it’s not like it’s actually programmable macros, it’s just a garbage fixed rotation that has zero situational or proc awareness.

For people who might want it it’s a complete non issue for people who actually care about output.

Is two buttons too much?

Great so you agree the one button rotation is non issue.
