Play a warlock in a raid
That sucks to hear man. I hope you find some good solutions.
Personally, I don’t agree that “accessibility” should be prioritized if it dumbs the game down for everybody.
In this particular case, my thoughts on a one-button macro/rotation/whatever are that it would be very difficult to balance.
If it performs averagely, then anybody who is at or below average (which should be something like roughly 50% of the playerbase) would likely feel alienated or at least be put off that automation is performing better than them in a game. If it performs significantly better or worse (either way), it may be problematic.
Anyway, my thoughts are that it seems like a balance nightmare, and even rude to average or below performing players unless it performs significantly worse than a relatively far below average player.

I don’t see the problem with it honestly. It gives you accessibility to play the game you enjoy, I’m all for it. Hope they bring it so you can play in comfort.
I think something like some baked in latency or clear delay would solve that issue. We already have other accessibility options in the game that can break situations.
For example, you can enlarge the text above player’s names to such an extent that you can spot them at the edge of your draw-distance, even if they are hiding behind some massive object.
I agree anything new added for accessibility should not be more optimal than normal play
Genuinely, I want to be respectful of accessibility; however, on the other side of the coin there’s something to be said for gameplay. The rotations in this version of the game aren’t terribly complex but they do offer some compelling engagement and choice. Distilling that down to just being able to press one button, even if that option is less optimal, takes away from the decision making power that can make this game engaging sometimes.
I also would want to offer something about a 1-button rotation suppressing natural human adaptability. I’ve seen reports of players with significant disability still learning to play the game and overcome the obstacles, in spite of not having a 1-button rotation. They found ways to succeed anyway.
I think humans thrive in the face of adversity and if you take that away, I think overall engagement could suffer. While I’ve certainly been driven to succeed by adversity in other areas though, I do completely realize that I’m writing all this about a game that I have the luxury of not really facing any adversity at all. So take these words how you will, but I do hope you give them some thought.
what exactly is so hard about pressing multiple buttons, which can all be hotkeyed right next to each other ![]()
You can aleady do 1 button macro’s that cycle from action bar 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 pressing different abilities along the way
It wont be optimal sequencing, as it just pops whatever is available to cast blindly, but its effectively the same thing. Very much doable today for any class
^ OP’s post. What a disgusting reply to make to the OP.
To be fair 90% of classic is a 1 or 2 button rotation already. He could just do a cast sequence macro.
if you can press one button you can press multiple ![]()
For OP, to help you now…here is how to do it with the existing macro structure. Warrior example but you can change it around to whatever class abilities you want on cooldown
You just place each macro in the “2” slot (or whatever) of action bar 1 and 2. Then you just spam 2 as it cycles through action bars casting the next ability.
It’s not optimal at all, as it could cast Whirlwind ahead of Bloodthirst in this example, but it will make it simpler and less buttons. You can also set a single target and cleave variant to change on the fly
Macro 1
/startattack
/cast [nostance:3] Berserker Stance
/changeactionbar [nocombat]1;[combat]2
/cast Bloodthirst
/cast Heroic Strike
Macro 2
/startattack
/cast [nostance:3] Berserker Stance
/changeactionbar 1
/cast Whirlwind
/cast Heroic Strike
You can keep adding additional macros in action bar 3, 4, 5, etc. to help cycle through more abilities
Yeah that’s a great idea, I had looked into that as a suggestion myself. It could be tricky to setup, I know there are third party tools too but those are bannable.
I appreciate how you gravitated towards advice instead of being a degenerate prick and contributing nothing like the other reply lmao.
wrong
I gave a very good suggestion (hotkey a bunch of buttons next to each other on the keyboard)
Tell me you’re young and healthy and have no experience with physical disability, without telling me.
That could be the case.
But it’s more likely Arielba/Eyr/Kassa is simply being petty which knows no age or ability boundaries.
Sad.
And if there’s pain when pressing one button, take that pain and multiply it by however many hotkeys you suggest. It’s almost as if you’re being willfully obtuse.
It’s sadly just low-wit rage bait. Like anyone being genuine here wouldn’t be hating on a fellow gamer for wanting to relive some nostalgia and looking for away around a physical disability.
They’re just a caricature, and its a pathetically shallow and poorly made one that doesn’t deserve much regard past pitty.
I would be interested in the idea of voice commands or something to help alleviate the stress of button pressing, but maybe that would introduce other technical/ergonomic issues
At the end of the day, I think it’s mostly the mediocre players who are afraid of being beat by someone with a disability that’s the problem. Some of the more myopic and insecure elite players might have issues, too.
Long COVID. I initially got sick on 10/10/23. Been dealing with it ever since. The folks at U of M have been helpful. I’m cautiously optimistic.
This is a non-issue. Some folks are treating it like “the sky is falling.” Truth be told, this will fix a lot of issues in-game. Crappy players will be less crappy. This gives more people to play with. I don’t think we’ll be seeing folks with a 1 button rotation to be parsing high. It’ll help PuGs more than anything.
I used to feel the same way. Now it hurts to run a dungeon. Raiding is worse. The pain is probably equivalent to someone having severe arthritis in every joint in their hands (though mine is through my whole body.) Not only are my hands painful, I have significant stiffness in them as well.
You seem quite pleased with your reductive suggestion.
Brother. Never respond to “Kassa” … Ever.
They are “Eyr” … their main forum poster who got so flamed when Blizz added Dual Spec to anni they broke down and had to swap forum characters.
literally had an IRL mental breakdown because of dual spec… like panic breathing… panting… seeing double… drooling… it was really bad and extremely concerning.
Just a grey parsing dummy… however compared to the other dummies on these forums… certainly not the worst offender.
Your initial response wasn’t all that great, either.
