Hey, Blizzard, I get it. Deepwind Gorge is going to be changed, and you’re probably going to change it in a way where the current achievements don’t make sense. I mean, I was going to get around to them eventually, but now it’s up to me whether to really try to grind them out before 8.3 (whenever that is).
Some of the achievements I know were going to be a real pain in the neck. I’ve traditionally done battlegrounds queueing solo, and the achievements I’ve earned in the battlegrounds are largely my own. Because of this, things like capping the cart 4 times in a battleground were going to be extremely difficult. Still, I’ve usually gotten all the other achievements before 100 wins for each battleground.
And hey, I understand moving them to legacy achievements. I was pretty annoyed when I lost a bunch of points for the removal of Ashran and that other BG whose name escapes me at the moment, because then I was no longer #1 in the guild. But achievements with points should be doable by anyone now, so that veteran players don’t have an automatic point advantage. Even if the number is ultimately meaningless, you could always catch up to the current top player if you really tried.
So I can’t quite decide whether or not to try to finish these up before 8.3. I’ll have them under Legacy, but they won’t count toward the total.
But what I’d kind of hate to miss out on is the Gorgeous title. So if nothing else, can we make sure the new version of the battleground has a new set of achievements and meta achievements so that this title is still obtainable? Better still, see if there’s a way to give credit for the new achievements if you’ve already done the old ones, because it’s also nice for players who did the old achievements not to have to focus on Deepwind Gorge just to get the new ones.
I personally have 4 achievements left for the title. Capture 48 more carts, Deepwind allstar, 30 more wins, and capture 4 carts in a single game. Now that theres an announcement that the title wont be obtainable when 8.3 hits everyone will specific queue for this and want to get the title. Making it harder to do. Seeing as i play alone most of the time and a hunter. I probably will not get the title. You will need a team with a DH tank who can run the carts for you, and cap at the end. Horde will be working on all star, and will probably kill cart carriers.
Should i have finished this title sooner? Sure. But im so unmotivated to PvP anymore. Ive played thousands of battle grounds in the past 10 years, and only honor level ~155 when BFA hit. That alone tilted me to not want to BG.
Ah well, If anyone wants to help me capture 48 more carts… that be great.
better start looking for groups to knock these out. there will probably be premades floating about.

You’re 15/100 wins now? If you go after Deepwind Gorge Veteran I’m sure you’ll get it with time to spare. If possible, try to queue into Australian and New Zealand groups late at night or before work; their alliance are incredibly motivated and gave me so much trouble.
If you have marks of honor buy damage reduction and healing potions and focus only on cart capture, PvE consumables might help too. If you get an early cart don’t hesitate to go after Deepwind Gorge All Star instead if the opportunity presents itself.
A big thing that helped me with Capping Spree was getting a first cap right off the bat–before even the mid fighting ended. After that I just kept linking the achievement I was after and some priests helped me out.
Deepwind Gorge was a pain, but I promise both of you will get all these achievements if you keep working at it.
which is understandable. I dont expect achievements that have been around for years to just go unobtainable. Again, ive played this game since 09 and have done thousands of battlegrounds, you eventually get burned out and hold off from doing PvP ones to work on other achievements.
yea i got a 1000 marks, going to spend a bunch of the potions! Ill probably play a lot of games this weekend, hopefully they go well. Fingers crossed.

The title is staying, you’ll just have to earn different Deepwind achievements to get it.
Thanks for the link, I’m kind of excited to grind DWG again for the three new achievements once they come out. Also, I’m very glad that Gorgeous will still be available.
