On the Issue of Selfish Players in Classic: AQ Gong

Hello Wimpy Demon Hunter,

The only fair situation is the situation where anyone can do absolutely anything; restrictions of any kind are inherently unfair. It’s absurd for you to request something that is inherently unfair. Do your thinking with your brain, and not your feely-feels. If you win, you win, and if you lose, you lose; it really is that simple.

Best,

Jamol

Oh man, Im pretty sure I remember the incident in the OP from the old forums. Brutal, lol. But yeah there’s no Blizzard would interfere. What do you expect them to do, stop the players or ban them or something? It’s completely up to the players to handle this amongst themselves.

We can’t crow about how great the community aspect of Vanilla is one second then complain about it it the next.

This is why pvp servers are great.

Wise GM. Sounds like a good guild.

This is almost like saying everyone should have a Black Lotus, the most expensive card in Magic: The Gathering. Of course if you want it in that game the proxy market is there for you (you could liken this to simply sticking to other mounts that do the same thing functionally), but I think I’ve understood even before I played this game that that mount, especially being a weird bug and all and much different than all other mounts at the time, was supposed to be mega-exclusive.

I used to think only one person per server could ring the gong because I only ever knew of one guy with it. And if it was like that, I’d still say keep it that way. It’s that one thing out there you probably can’t have but it’s cool to see others with it, the game really has nothing like that anymore.

Your brontosaurus could just mean you like spending hundreds on WoW tokens. I think people park them by the mailbox in boralus so people can use the AH (I’m engi so meh), but it’ll never be cool the same way that black scarab is. Exclusivity is spicy in MMO’s, I guess it’s an acquired taste.

Like, I know I’ll never have it but I’ll /salute the guys who do (unless they’re known jerks), and I don’t see anything at all wrong with that just like I’ll never own a ten thousand dollar piece of cardboard but it’s fun to see someone else with it.

What is with all these post recently with people asking for all this fairness? Honestly what game do you think this is? This isn’t retail alright? If you want something in this game, you do anything you can to get it. If you aren’t willing to go to those lengths, then guess what you don’t get it.

Shout outs to other fairness threads.

The gating leveling thread
The limit on characters made on launch for name reserves
The thread about blizzard intervening to make the pvp ranks easier to get

It’s time to grow up boys, you don’t get something for nothing.

You know what they say… now two snowflakes are alike.

But that’s all BFA players know. If it’s not instant gratification, it’s instant tantrums.
