On A Paler Horse is completely worthless

Honestly, this was one of the fears alot of the community had about Hero Specs. Were these going to be aesthetic / flavor choices to help dive into class fantasy? Or were they going to have true gameplay altering implications.

Blizzard assured us they would be the latter, but its clear that more than a handful of these talents aren’t much more than RP service. Which is frustrating.

Beyond that… why even add something to the game that plays can’t use in most of the content lol

Even a 40% movement speed bonus (sprint speed) at all times would be incredible in pvp and such

IMO Blizz should just merge the two “choice” nodes as-is into a single talent, because as it is you either manually toggle it based on where you are, or you just set it to Death Charge and don’t worry about the occasions where On A Paler Horse is useful.

But your not Druids. Death Knight should have gotten something akin to the Paladin’s charger, a replace button.

Short of that, if course you weren’t going to be able to be mounted everywhere. That would have been ridiculous.

We got that too with Death Charge.
So that’s already a choice.

It’s not about being mounted EVERYWHERE it’s about CONSISTENCY
Druid ability says OUTDOORS, Our ability says OUTDOORS, they should therefore be 1:1 in where they can be used.
And they aren’t. The ability isn’t even 1:1 on where we can use our ground mount!
THAT is the problem.

Yes it is.

No its not. Druids cannot dps while in travel form, or flight form. But you want to be able to be mounted and be in combat because druids can use travel form while in the dungeon. That isnt consistent at all.

Being able to fight while mounted is the deciding factor. You will not be able to fight while mounted in content that matters. That is consistent with druids.

No. There is not.

So with the KEYWORD OUTDOORS.
Druids have an ability that states OUTDOORS
DK has an ability that states OUTDOORS
The classification of OUTDOORS is not CONSISTENT between the two.
IT SHOULD BE. END OF STORY. PERIOD. NO ARGUMENT.
It has the same KEYWORD it should apply THE SAME.

In PvP it feels pretty worthless.

Let’s be real: Even when questing, I found myself getting on my FLYING MOUNT and never using the ability. It’s pretty silly you’re a “rider” that doesn’t “ride” anything beyond a big bone from Blizzard.

There’s a ghoul in these forums that lurks when anyone addresses a real issue and you shouldn’t speak of it, it crawls up from the depths like a bloated blight riddled entity ready to spew on any subject. It’s pretty disgusting. Don’t feed it. It sups on it, overweight and heavy.

Either way, the Death Charge ability itself in PvP is kind of sad. It doesn’t dispel snares on you, but will for roots. And then you can still just be rooted after and/or snared. So the people saying “omg lol if u thought u’d get mounted combat as a dk when sold it at face value” for the sake of being just pitiful? Play with it, actually test the abilities, and give honest feedback.

I’d rather you remap the animation of Death’s Advance and give us a different choice node, or make it passive to just be on the steed and in INSTANCED combat you run at baseline movement. It’s so silly this is even a challenge or fought against. People want a /theme/, they want a fantasy to play as it. Allow it, but don’t give them a competitive advantage upon it.

It should be baseline and in instanced combat you can’t zip around at 100%. Easy.

You go play hearthstone since you cant understand simple stuff in WoW. Dont go throwing around insults because you cant handle different abilities being different.

Are you forgetting the keywords IN COMBAT? Just because you limit a single sentence doesnt mean you have an argument.

You cannot be in travel form while you fight. Outdoors means the open world in this context or would you rather them change it to list every area that you can use it in?

Hmm yes an ability that makes you not get dismounted an ability specifically let’s you mount in combat. Does “In combat” equal the Qualifier to WHERE you can mount? No. The qualifier to WHERE is OUTDOORS.

WHERE can Druids Mount? OUTDOORS.
WHERE Can Players Mount? OUTDOORS.
So in those circumstances WE the DK should be able to Mount and as stated by the ability, Enter Combat.

Go get some reading comprehension, a dictionary and stop thinking with you rear end!

Neither of those you can fight while mounted though. So there has to be balance injected into it. Therefore NO MOUNTED COMBAT INDOORS. Indoors means in instances. This is like common sense stuff here.

Oh i have reading comprehension because the ENTIRE sentence matters and not just you cherry picking a word and making a doompill post about it. Its insane.

Then for the sake of balance in that regard.
The Tooltip SHOULD READ “Outdoors in Non-Instanced Content”
THAT would make it consistent.
Except that still doesn’t explain why it isn’t allowed in Timeless Isle and Argus.

The ability needs to be brought in line with the tooltip or the tooltip should be adjusted to reflect the ability PROPERLY but oh wait… Then Blizzard kinda reveal how utterly useless said talent is.

And that is why every other DK here is arguing for the ability to be brought in line with the tooltip not the other way around.
That is the literal last drop of good faith I have to put into arguing with you.

No it shouldnt. The tooltip has enough information in it. Its no one elses fault but your own if you didnt understand it. I understood it when the hero talents were announced yet you say I need reading comprehension.

yall acting like blizzard did some sort of crime when every dk with a working brain knew mounted combat would have clear limitations and only be regulated to outside outside open world. or else it would be extremely broken in actual content. yall really should have expect that cause it would have been extremely unfair for a dk to suddenly have 100% mount speed and fight in something like battlegrounds or open area dungeons.

tho keep in mind i do agree it should work in places like the maw and timelessisle just for consistency

The Maw is probably because you couldnt mount there initially in the first place.

doesnt matter needs to work in all open world content and only open world content. since that content is meme and doesnt matter
