On the largest Facebook wow group we had a poll and the majority of votes on why people left retail to classic was difficultly.
10 minute fights of 60 APM
Then just the obscene button bloat, enhancement elemental build shaman has like a 4 Cooldowns ( Feral Spirits, Doomwinds,Sundering and Acendance)
Every fight you press Flame shock and Windfury totem then these are 2 dead slots until you have to reapply them, but 2 dead slots on your action bar immediately.
Ice strike and Frost Shock are another 20+ second deadslot after you press them.
You need lighting bolt on your bar to use Primordial Wave as intended, so you have Lighting bolt another dead slot on your action bar.
Then the rotation itself is like storm strike, lava Lash, Elemental blast, flame shock, lighting bolt, ice strike, frost shock
AoE gives you Crash lighting and Chain lighting then your 4 Cooldowns and Windfury totem.
That’s 15 buttons for damage, not even talking about utility or defensives.
Is this more fun than Enhancement in WoTLK?
Answer: No… in Wrath of The Lich king Enhancement is incredibly fun, from just the buttons feeling fun to press. My fire Nova totem in wotlk feels better to press than Sunder on retail.
not only are the retail rotations so convulutated youre also fighting retail content, no wonder the older crowd wanting to just relax for the evening doesn’t like it
