Old guild roster

/groster to see original guild roster that existed from the very first day of when WoW first came out and we had guilds from original WoW. And now you remove yet another feature because your current team has contempt for the original dev team, so you all want to erase and destroy everything that they made?

I see zero reason for this change. No one asked for this. Why do you insist on removing everything that is original to WoW and Blizzard that people liked and then replacing it with stuff that nobody likes, then wonder why everyone is complaining and so many people are leaving?

There was ZERO reason to change this. Not a bug, it is on every toon that this happens.

I want to feel like I am playing World of Warcraft still, not some new version of the game every time a new content patch comes out. No reason to change and forever remove the option to view original guild roster. Should be restored. Not a bug, not something to be submitted in a ticket and GD would just have Blizz ignoring it. Only way anyone from Blizzard knows this is a problem is to see it here. Fix please. :frowning: Cool to have old things still in game.

You missed General Discussion and the in-game suggestion feature by just a smidge, I’m afraid.

Posting here has exactly zero effect.

I said how it will get ignored by Blizz in GD and this is the only way someone from there will ever see it. It has zero effect no matter where you post it. It would get ignored there even more. At least now someone from Blizzard will see this and know that it is a problem. There was zero reason to do this. In GD the same topic has to be posted over 30 times before Blizzard begins to take notice.

But this is incorrect in the way you want it to be correct. Customer Support does not have any involvement with game direction or design and are not in contact with those that are.

It’s also fair to say that our perception as players on the outside is to believe that it’s being ignored because it isn’t being responded to by community managers but does not factor in that it’s scraped by people hired to do exactly what people claim they don’t do and pass it on to the developers for their consideration beyond that.

To that end, while there is a zero sum chance of it being effective here, there is a non-zero sum of it being effective in its appropriate forum. There is, as I also mentioned, the in-game suggestion feature which acts the same as the GD forum, just without community input on either side of the coin.

There used to be a lot more Blues on GD forums about 10+ years ago. Need that back so we can actually get help and issues like this can be fixed as there really is no way else of getting this noticed. Only someone from Blizzard can fix this and Blizz almost never goes onto GD anymore the way they used to. This really does need to be changed back there was zero reason for this change to have been made in the first place. It caused no harm to have /groster as a slash command to give you your old guild roster view that existed since Vanilla WoW.

Just because the Blues don’t post in GD doesn’t mean the CMs don’t read the posts. They do, then take the information to the Devs. The SFAs in Customer Support do not gather feedback/suggestions to pass on to the Devs. Only the CMs do and they don’t do it from Customer Support.

If you want to bypass the noise in GD, use the in-game feedback/suggestion option. It shares a button with Bug Report in the Support menu.

I need /groster as a guild master. Its the only way to sort by last online. /groster allows you to sort by zone which also sorts by last online. In the new guild tab sorting by zone has no order and its annoying. I need to sort by last online so I can remove inactives from my guild! thanks for making my life harder for no reason

Yes it is the most efficient way to run your guild. This is a major issue and needs to be fixed now.

Also it helps you better interact with the old UI that is set up for managing a guild way better than the current system allows for. It shows a lot more info than the current one does and is much more useful in game as a guild master.

We get it there needs to be improvements but any feedback/suggestions here will literaly get lost to the maw to never be seen by the developers, proper place is general where it will get seen by those that pass along feedback or use the ingame suggestion feature.

Peace of advice less hostility more honey dev will be more open the more pleasant u are.

I really want this changed back and want Blizzard to know that is needs to be switched back. There was zero reason to do this as it hurt no one having the old option for /groster to have the old guild format show up when we wanted. It did more harm than good by removing that. You could switch it back with a /reload then type /groster to get it back again. Zero harm done. And there really is no way to get anyone from Blizzard to see this who can help. There is a tiny small chance that someone from Blizz who is a blue here can tell someone else at Blizz about this and fix this. Not much chance of getting it fixed but no need to ruin it in the first place.

I have been GM of many guilds. I kinda need this and I am in a big guild now in retail.

Rather than GD, I would actually advise you to instead post in the UI and Macro forum. Not only is it you posting in an appropriate forum where feedback is collected - since this forum is literally the only forum where absolutely NO staff comes due to it’s nature of being peer-to-peer support (outside of our SFAs, at least) - but it also isn’t GD, so it’s not lost to all of the mess that is, well. GD.

If your issue could be addressed here, that would be lovely, but the repeated drilling of posting elsewhere is only to make sure your voice is being heard. Us, your fellow players, can do nothing with it at all. And our SFAs, the only Blues you will see on this forum? They’re here to offer advice, insight and to keep us hoodlums in line. They do not pass along feedback and they certainly cannot snap their fingers and undo this change. That is strictly a Dev issue to be addressed.

Its not the blues jobs to pass along feedback this is a player to player support forum with blue moderation. Always has been always will be it has nothing to do with so called decline in CS its just the way its always been u want ur voice heard post in the correct forum.

No, there really, genuinely isn’t. That’s what I was mentioning before-- there is a zero sum chance of effect by posting here because it isn’t within the scope of the agents of this forum to pass feedback along like that.

I do this all the time with the new guild interface…

No, Mïiïs, there really isn’t. If a functionality you were previously using is not available it would either be considered a bug, in which case you’d want to post in the Bug Report forum. Or, you’d want to submit feedback that you’d like to see that functionality return by posting in the General Discussion forum or by submitting a suggestion through the in-game option in the Support Menu.

We cannot pass on that feedback for you. The Community forums, as well as many other places that players provide feedback, are constantly reviewed by our Community teams to take back to the Dev team. They don’t often engage in a discussion because that tends to fundamentally alter that discussion going forward. So do not take silence as your feedback is not being reviewed.

When providing feedback or similar reports, it would be best to stick to what is relevant, such as “this is something I liked to use and would like to see the functionality return” or “this functionality disappeared with the latest patch, I think it may be a bug”, and avoid unnecessary and made up narratives and other rhetoric.
