Old Elite PvP sets should be obtainable

Gonna get hate but reintroduce the elite sets one or two xpacs after they were obtainable. You can farm old raid sets, no reason you shouldn’t be able to farm old elite sets.

Maybe make them cosmetic rewards for solo shuffle or instead of mount tokens after you’ve got the mount or something.

They really shouldn’t do that.

If anything old raid sets (mythic) shouldn’t be obtainable either so that argument can stop being used, and both high end PvErs and PvPers can have prestige items to push for that’ll become unobtainable.

Also, they were about to bring back Cataclysmic Elite in legion for hitting 2200, but quickly scrapped that idea realizing how much the community didn’t want that.

No.

If anything, the mythic mog should be changed to be unobtainable after the season is over.

They are a sign of prestige for actually unlocking them. This defeats the whole purpose.

No thank you. Should have gotten them when they were out.

You’ve been actively PVPing since WoD. Why didn’t you just get them the whole time if you care so much?

What’s the reasoning for this though? I don’t really disagree or agree. I’m just curious what’s the point of this type of gatekeeping? It’s just kind of weird to me but I understand it from a “I grinded for this” mentality perspective but I just can’t say I’ve ever felt the same. I could literally not care less if people are allowed to get something I got in the past in a video game. Why would I? Care to share any reasoning rooted in logic? Just curious.

It adds incentive, and it adds a thrill to the PvP player base for those who like to achieve and earn something unique.

Knowing that you grinded your heart out and obtained a unique reward that no one will be able to obtain once the season is over is to me one of the best feelings in an environment like this.

Just my opinion though. But I do believe in exclusivity per season, and they should apply it to PvE as well to give PvErs something to strive for. If you didn’t play that season you shouldn’t get that seasons rewards, that’s my take.

Soooo much prestige associated with the sets, get so many oohs and ahhs wearing old elite sets while standing around in solo queue for an hour. Added my achievements to my resume as well.

Good point boys, you convinced me.

Who actually looks at elite sets as prestigious

Maybe if they gave you a token, only one per account per season, on hitting elite in 3s. No RSS or 2s, that would still be a minuscule portion of the population and let some people get sets they want.

Not like it would matter for most people since their idea of high fashion is T3 from the BMAH anyways.

Lets all be honest, they’ll be adding them into the Trader’s Post at some point lol

Systems and skills and toolkits from previous xpacs that players utilized to achieve those sets were rewarded with those sets. Even tho i want past elite sets its understandable that players who played with that xpacs iterations of abilities and tunings deserve those rewards. Also there is a HUGE player population difference from pve and pvp. Pvp bros deserve those pvp sets and the limited time to obtain them should encourage pve bros to step into the arena for once to obtain em

ya not lately

Hot take you shouldn’t be able to farm old mythic/heroic sets either I want to look at someones gear and know when they were good at the game

Even hotter take make the set 2000 or 2100 because rival isn’t hard
