So like. Why is sky riding broken now?
What I mean is that when I try and fly straight like I used to before pre patch it doesn’t actually fly me straight anymore? Like when I angle my camera to fly the direction that I want to, the mount automatically straightens out. It’s really annoying. Why did you guys break this?

It seems like there’s some kind of stabilisation on it now. Or auto straightener. Im wondering if it’s in the accessibility settings.

I noticed this as well in Flight Form and it’s driving me crazy.

So that’s what’s wrong! I knew something was messing with my flying. I just couldn’t figure it out, because it’s hard to get used to dynamic flying on a little disc.

Could it be that you used the spell to switch flight form to Steady Flight? I’ve found myself accidentally switching flight styles.
Life was so much easier before Dragon Isles

I haven’t noticed a difference in “sky writing”, but I also haven’t switched from dynamic non-dynamic flying since reset this week. Playing around with it now and i’m not noticing anything different.

I also noticed this, its worse on some mounts and isn’t consistently happening. I tried changing some settings but couldn’t get it to quit happening.
At best I found that if I used both mouse buttons and got a sharp enough angle it doesn’t happen as often.
Honestly I think they did mess with the flight to make it harder to go long distances by having what used to be the shallow angle to maintain speed auto shift into flat flight which makes you lose speed if you are not watching to keep tilting it down again.

I think since there were several problems going on, beginning with lag and then moving onto other glitches, it could be tied into the game bugging out as a whole.
They’ve scheduled maintenance for tomorrow so it’ll probably be fixed by then.
You could change your flying preference and then change it back again to see if that helps.

Noticed this awhile back in the Beta. It’s like the controls are actively trying to fight you and want to level off to some pre-selected angle. Very annoying change after having 2 years getting used to the controls.

I did try that, didn’t fix it for me.

Ah yeah I noticed something weird too, like I usually try to point downwards a bit but the game is forcing me to point flat or up.
Nice of them to screw it up right after they go pointlessly out of their way to force people to use it more often.

Yeah, I’ve been getting this too. I cant consistently replicate it, and it usually fixes itself if I land and get off and then back on my mount, but its annoying.

this has been a bug every now and then since a week. it might be permanent now I dont know but usually it worked properly upon relog. have not tried after hotfix
Earlier I did a time rift. After we took down the boss we couldn’t leave for several minutes.
I noticed the flying a bit, too but I usually use static flight so I thought it was just me when it felt weird doing the quest in the suffusion camp.
When they did the warbank and some other QoL changes for the playerbase, I think they made major changes to the game and that’s where a lot of this is coming from.
Must be a nightmare trying to get ahead of it all.
I’m trying to recreate this problem but I can’t. I’m using Default pitch control (which is pretty much only right mouse button and move camera) and whenever letting go of right mouse it continues exactly in the direction I left it aimed in, using pitch up and down keys not really having any rebound either. Even tried with messing with some of the mount accessibility things but nothing, I can’t figure it out.

I’ve seen this happen as well. Dismounting and mounting back up seemed to “fix” it, at least until it happened again.
I’ve had the issue off and on since the week I got into beta, but I admire your optimism.

Interesting. Is this something different than the short spells of non-responsiveness one gets when there is high lag?
Completely different, yeah. Yet both seem to occur for no rhyme or reason.
