Okay but WHY can't I tame this fish?

The fish is a Beast animal type. The fish is already out flying around in the air. I should be able to tame the fish!

Not all beasts are tameable. Plenty of 'em aren’t, like the larvae/grub models or the brutosaurs. I have a feeling brutosaurs were considered at some point as they at least have foods listed

They require you to be stronger than them to tame them

Plenty of cool beasts that can’t be tamed, unfortunately. This one at least has the excuse that there’s not really any good pet family to put it in.

I’m pretty sure hunters already have enough pet families to tame without adding “fish” to that
 but it won’t surprise me if Blizz eventually lets you tame them anyway. Blizz sure loves giving hunters more stuff to tame after all.

I definitely want a magical flying fish that slaps enemies to death with their marvelous tails. This needs to be a reality in my hunters life.

That fish IS awesome.I almost bough a 6-mth sub instead of pre-ordering the expac just to get the mount that looks like this and when I saw it in ED
 I just about swooned. This little hunter girl I’m using on the forum is sad to hear it’s not tameable.

Would be cool to have tame-able fish, but we can only summon and use them in water.

I saw them flying around and noticed they were beasts. Got really excited for a second, only to be let down the next seeing that they aren’t actually tameable.

I appreciate a hunter saying that. The recent pet customization we got was a refreshing breath of fresh air, but I sure would not mind expanding my pet list further.
