Ok, who still DOESN'T want the ripcord pulled and why?

Ion has gone on record saying otherwise.

Ion said they did during an interview with sloot at the start of alpha lol.

Ion brought it up himself. He said they had a ripcord ready in case what they were trying to do didn’t work out. Later he admitted they never did have a ripcord.

being “shoe horned” is something yall did to yourselves. could make groups with other non meta specs/covenants but people are so worried about not being accepted into other peoples groups they forget that it’s possible to make your own. i’ve said my opinion on this, and you’re a poster in generally respect quite a bit, but calling someone elses subjective opinion asinine wasn’t appropriate.

A large chunk of my guild vanished when all of that went down, i cancelled my subscription and didn’t come back until Pathfinder but most of the others never came back. It wasn’t that flight was that big of a deal, it was the fact that Ion knew what he was going to do, he knew it was going to go down like a lead balloon so he kept it secret and strung everyone along for as long as possible.

I would have respected him if he just came out and told us all that it was going to be a no-flying expansion and let us all make an informed decision about our purchase.

Venthyr Hunter.

LOL

in game, in actual play, those same people would blacklist you from raiding cuz they were so pissed they collectively gave you 50g to run them through a dungeon you didn’t even need anything from. #classic

Blizzard always has nerfs/buffs and changes waiting in the wings to be implemented depending on how things go down with the community, just because it was given a silly name doesn’t make it any less of a reality.

my hunter is an orc and he’s venythyr specifically because it was the only decent mog for him, imo.

Sure. People have the “option” to choose cosmetics over reasonable progress. But what kind of “meaningful choice” is it when you have to choose something you don’t want and don’t like, because there are no good choices? and that’s what Ion told us he wanted, no clearly good and clearly bad choice. Every choice should be accompanied by unpalatable drawbacks.

If you want that pretty armor you’ll do less dps and have less utility. Or pick the covenant with the ability you need to be able to contribute constructively and be stuck with some armor that looks stupid on your class.

i literally only do WQ and lfr on him every few expansions. i am not an elite player. i am not on the treadmill to get my 932847593287432th alt +15/aotc ready because someday i might do it on him. a lot of it is try harding from people who aren’t actually gonna face negativity from their “poor” choices. there are things to be upset about. but my alt not being as strong as someone elses more progressed main, isn’t one of them- to me.

The “they’re just try hards and meta slaves” argument went out when Ralph stop posting.

People play the game in different ways. Having to be gimped in some content you were able to do in previous expansions is not fun. Being unable to play more than one role effectively. Raiding vs M+ vs PvP. Why do you think that your limited gameplay choices should mean other people should be satisfied being less effective than they could be because of arbitrary gameplay “choices” they were forced to make?

Are you all sure that was the actual recording, not just the abridged text versions on Wowhead/mmo champ.

Pretty sure in the actual interview he said “hypothetically” which changes context entirely.

Could be wrong as it was a while ago, however that is how I recall it.
Also remember we are talking about Ion “lawyer speak” Hazzikostas. Saying “we have this” is not really something he says.

i spoke only for myself. also you can armory people who spend the most time crying in threads like these and it’s people who make MY armory look like timba’s. people who literally are clutching pearls. generally speaking people who are elite players, not elitist players, just do what they know they gotta do to do the things they want to do. ever seen anyone from limit crap posting on the forums for hours and hours and days and days at a time about stuff like this? no? me neither.

There was no hypothetical. But anyway, the fact that so many people agree might suggest that you weren’t paying attention at the time and missed the many discussions on this topic on the forums.

I have no idea who or what ‘Timba’ is. But if you’re here to whine about “those other people who spend 24/7 crying on the forums, but my crying is socially constructive”, I guess I’m done discussing with you, since you were never remotely serious about this discussion anyway.

Oh I saw the forums, but I don’t take forum gossip as gospel lol.

In fact quite the opposite. Grain of salt doesn’t even cover it.
Also 3 people who are “pro ricpord” agreeing doesn’t really convince me.

You have more vested interest in him saying what you wanted than I do.

you’re in a pull the ripcord thread and don’t know who timba is???

I don’t care , this is min-maxer problem trying to include other players/features to add more weight to their opinion as usual.

Blizz has never listened to them on any thing ever(corrupted gear, bentic, reforging, Azerite armor, legion legendries, WoD legendary, patheon , masterloot, class balance e.t.c) since I have been playing this game so other than for entertainment why would I care what these losers say? Obviously Blizzard doesn’t either .

yeah and if you say you don’t care and that actually top tier players don’t waste time on this stuff either they act like you karate kicked their granny in the throat.

edit: timba himself admitted on the classic forums that he’s… stretched the truth a bit with how he’s presented his arguments. just in case someone wants to use him as an example.
