Ok, who still DOESN'T want the ripcord pulled and why?

That’s actually a conduit friend, and it was nerfed justifiably.

The ability on its own in single target is simply a Judgment, a 1min cd for a 12s cd spell.

One which also relates to a more meta issue which is the rate of damage scaling vs survivability scaling in PvP in general.

Sorry, no time to respond, I need to grind more vials, so I can grind more Echoes, before the corruption I need disappears from the vendor for 6 weeks…

I for one vote for “meaningful choice”.

Covenant abilities, conduits or what have you. These issues that shouldnt have existed in the first place further accentuate the constant meta-slaving issue thats been around for years.

People like doing multiple things on their characters. I primarily raid but I also sometimes PvP and would like to be as effective as I can be. The problem is Night Fae for Hunters is ridiculously good for raiding but ridiculously bad for PvP. I’d love to try out Venthyr and/or Kyrian in PvP but the penalty for changing is far too great and my raid needs me as Night Fae (do not underestimate it; it’s not like 5% dps or something… entire fight strategies can revolve around it). So if I want to try them out I have to level a new Hunter. And I shouldn’t have to tell you that I’m quite invested in and attached to this Hunter so I would really like to not have to level a different one.

Anyone thinking this is a good system has deluded themselves into thinking it’s some grand casual v.s. hardcore battle when in reality EVERYONE is negatively effected by this system. I doubt you would even notice if covenants could be freely swapped, yet you’re ardently defending it here purely because you know it pisses off some group of players you hate. And that’s just sad.

This is literally untrue. For tanking warrior bis is Kyrian for most M+ it’s night fae for dps for raid it’s venth. For super high end coordinated M+ and prog raiding it’s probably necro. There is a 2 week cd between swapping between covenants already used you absolutely cannot min max to your heart’s content. Not to mention conduit energy. Get rid of conduit energy and the cd but still make us level each covenant and that would be fine.

actually, that’s about the only good argument I’ve heard, you are right about this

when one covenant is the definitive pve and another is the definitive pvp

time is scarce, lots of people can only really actually-effectively play one character

this can create an unproductive situation, and it’s worse if it’s 3-way (one covenant for 5s, another for raid, and yet a 3rd for pvp)
