Pretty sure the whole forum is actually just Preheat alts and this is some kind of wandavision world they live in.
You know right now that would be better then a certain velf hunter or a certain orc hunter thread.
As a WQ hero, id think your choice would be even more impactful.
So some math was done and basically if a DH doesn’t go Kyrian their ability to AE drops pretty significantly compared to MOST of the other covenants. This means that all the WQs instead of taking 5 mins, now take about 8 mins. Meaning every single WQ takes extra time to do. Over the course of a 2 year expansion it ends up being quite a few hours purely wasted because you chose a suboptimal ability.
Now you may not care about your time, or be retired, or don’t work or whatever, but for those, like me, who work 60 hours a week and have 3 kids…I don’t get alot of extra playtime, so the time I DO get I have to make it count. That means my DH is Kyrian…because it saves me time getting my daily stuff done.
What is best? The game and the encounters is too broad to say “this is best”.
Are you talking best at single target? Best at AoE? Best utility? Best in PvP? Best flexibility?
If anything the fact that you consider something best and take it is actually a meaningful choice.
You made the choice to choose performance over a spell that fits more fluidly in a rotation, or your preference of covenant, or the transmog.
You made an important choice, that is what the system wants you to do.
i do them with my wife. its my alt and her healer main or tank alt. don’t have to worry about dying unless i decide to rambo through mobs and she just… stops? for some reason and then we both die. she hasn’t learned the art of tunneling through mobs and letting them leash, yet. she’s one of those “it attacked you so i am gonna kill it” people.
I’m kind of neutral to the whole thing, but with pulling a ripcord wouldn’t it be better to just scrap the power system entirely? It’s just if covenant abilities simply become another talent that you freely swap to the BiS by encounter type then it seems like it loses all real impact.
Unlike artifacts and azerite there’s no work at all involved. It’d become “here’s four free slots of abilities just because, use whatever’s strongest for each fight.” At that level it seems rather uninspiring and pointless to bother keeping them around at all. Just thinking out loud.
Oooh wait, I might be out of the loop a bit. Haven’t been bouncing on here too much recently.
Have I missed something spicy? Is the VE Hunter a female avatar?
Name a single expansion that didn’t have a meta.
Funny, I would be happier if they removed them entirely than just pulling the Ripcord, but at least the Ripcord is a step in the right direction.
People do this with or without abilities locked behind Covenants.
Yes, quite true.
I very much agree with this. The abilities should have been a new talent row and choosing your Covenant could have changed their spell effects. The secondary abilities could have stayed with the Covenants: Soulshape, Door of Shadows, etc.
The question should be, who doesn’t knew they already said there isn’t a ripcord for them to pull?
Everyone that keeps making these threads.
Yes, I remember the old thread from September concerning this. It was a disappointment to many.
Except thats BS. They have said a lot of things are impossible, but with enough time and effort it could be made possible.
What hes saying isnt that its not possible its that they don’t want to put the time and effort into doing it.
If they did put the time and effort into it, we would end up with Warlords of Draenor again.
I actually liked WOD more than I do Shadowlands…
But Im one of the weirdos that thought the Garrison was cool and wish they would do REAL player housing.
I enjoyed it, as well. But we lost out on quite a lot of content.
Which proves that unlocking them from covenants does nothing but promote the construed negative gameplay. (You are implying people choosing based solely on power is bad)
Which would actually be worse than the current design. The signature abilities are actually so much more polarising than the class abilities.
Why for example would anyone in their right mind be Bastion and take a weak heal and cleanse over something as powerful as Soulshape?
Even Necrolord, 40% health shield plus stat bonuses depending on dead mobs. Against a single use per combat heal for 20%…
It’s just not even comparable.
They already stated the current system is to integral to the design that they can’t remove it. Which is why there is on ripcord to pull. Sure they could spend a couple months rewriting the entire system, if we don’t mind there being no more new content for the next year.
Yes the damn rip cord needs to be pulled
