There is no button bloat created by Blizz it is a player created problem .
Just because you have an active ability doesn’t mean you have to (meaning required) to use it . You can key bind the ones you will use and leave those you won’t in your spell book and only pick them to get to the ones you want on the trees be they actives or passive.
Ok that’s my Ted Rant

My issue is different classes/specs are too different
Demon Hunter: barely anything on a bar
Demonology Warlock: 3 bars full of stuff
I prefer Demon Hunter because it’s a simple, clean setup
What irked me is talents forced me into button bloat. Would I have taken things like curses? No, but to get to talents I wanted I had to take stuff I didn’t want.

Please tell me which of the 15 active skills ret paladin has in there rotation is not required? I’ll wait.
On the same note, Marks Hunter has 10-15 abilities as well that need to be managed, weaved, etc.
So either you’re unaware of how to play your class or your playing 3 button BM and then you lack knowledge of the button bloat and your opinion is irrelevant.
You’ll be waiting forever.
Tell me you’ve never played a healer without telling me you’ve never played a healer

All teh buttons = minmaxer turbonerd requirement
Enough of teh buttons = good enough for government work
All of them.
Because ret paladins were a mistake.

Thats how I feel about current state of Holy Paladin.
You literally just described button bloat.

And I addressed that in the opening .
There will be things you take to get to what you want but you don’t have to keybind the one you don’t want to use . Binding it is a personal choice.
would be a very good point if they balanced things better. as it is youd be silly not to take the huge dmg bump abilities.
It is only bloat if you actually keybind them on your bars . If they are not bound then they are not bloat . Hence button bloat is a player created problem not a forced on players by Blizz problem .
No, it is bloat if they outright exist.
Also, you clearly haven’t played some classes/specs. The shaman specs are way bloated and can’t fit on 2 action bars, Ret Paladin’s regular rotation can’t even fit on a single action bar.
And most likely that is what you would take but there are also abilities that are not so powerful and could be considered ones not to keybind. Either way it is still player choice on what buttons or how many they keybind . Blizz just gives us options and it is up to us to pick the options we want to use.
I prefer a more button option of around 11 abilities and around 9 to 10 passives and I feel like there is no bloat . Every ability I put on my bars were my choice and if there is any bloat to my bars that is on me not Blizz.
I think the biggest problem usually is because of not taking or using those abilities, you lose a decent amount of dps or utility. Certainly there are some buttons you don’t ‘need’
to keybind.
A big thing is when you having conflicting rotational bloat. Shadow Priest for instance, if you spec into Mind Spike and Find Flay Insanity, both these are filler spells. Having Mind Spike replace Mind Flay and all nodes switch to boost Mind Flay would work better and reduce one less button to worry about.
Cooldowns should be all near each other or near 30s/1m. Fully into Mind games, puts it at 45 seconds, which falls out of your main cool downs of either Void Eruption or Dark Ascension/Mind Bender/Power Infusion.
Yeah it’s 100% the players for why any talent build that does its best to simplify your rotation completely and totally tanks your damage output by nearly 3/4ths of your damage potential so severely that you often up fighting the freaking tanks for damage in a single target raid boss fight and get quietly removed from the group for poor damage.
Id respond to this, but i wont get enough attention. Please find my thoughts in a new thread coming soon.
I won’t be responding to THAT thread, instead I’ll make a new thread talking about your thread.

If you’re okay doing about 37% of normal dps, I have a ranged unholy DK build which is pretty easy and has few buttons. You just have to pretend the other buttons don’t exist.
Ok bud how about you play ret then
