If I can make an honest assessment though, this is all just purely my opinion, while I didn’t have a problem with him personally, and I liked him and stuff, when I take a step back and truly look at it, on occasion he did do things that upset a few people.

For instance, when someone made a complaint about constantly dying in Zandalar and having to constantly see Bwonsamdi, he said, someone said ‘stop dying’, and the community manager in question simply said something along the lines of ‘this is pretty good advice’. The problem was, this comment was perceived as snide and snarky by some members of the forum.

I guess my view on that regardless on whether I agree with the sentiment or not, is that it does show a lack of listening to someone’s concerns, it’s the kind of thread where if people are ranting on like that, it’s best to either A-remain quiet or B-offer suggestions to help the player or C-say that they will look in some ways to improve the game, by you know, trying to bring out flying sooner or whatever.

What I’m saying is that I liked the CM in question, but he wasn’t perfect either, you know? It’s sad though when anyone loses their job.

Well, his jokes about teldrassil made me very very annoyed considering how it felt being on the other side. But…

I am pretty sure all of the memorable CMs did say things that ruffled feathers at some point and time. Is that a healthy habit? I dunno, but there’s so many people here with different personalities and opinions, I would imagine someone would be offended by even the most innocent of responses. People were even offended simply because he responded to some of the more silly topics.

Look at the Lore Twitter debacle. People took it and spun it like he was talking about the entire wow community when he was literally singling out the jerks who were harassing him. Now, I’m not always happy with Lore, but even I can be mature enough to look at the actual facts of that issue and say “oh, he was letting some idiots on his Twitter know that they weren’t going to get to him” not “oh, he’s calling all of us names and he’s a jerk”.

I got a idea, maybe if we say OH NO 3 times our yak CM will burst through the wall and say OH YEAH! Just doing some off the wall theory crafting here.

Sometimes we have to be careful what we say online, as things can easily be misinterpreted, we have to consider the people on the other side of the screen, I can understand some people get offended by things they probably shouldn’t but at the same time there’s a difference between being not politically correct and being outright rude.

Overall, I agree. It is situational though (I have no patience for jerks of course), but it’s also not easy when you are in the spotlight to take hundreds, thousands, or millions of people and their personalities into consideration.

There will be but not as much as we’ve been having so it’ll be rare and you can expect that person to ever post anything to be Bornakk.

I didn’t realize I’d miss him this much. The forums aren’t the same with him not lurking :frowning:

When Ythisens was a CM: Ythisen is the worst CM ever!!! All he ever does respond to silly threads and ignore ones with valid feedback!!!

After Ythisens was laid off: OMG!!! BEING BACK THE YAK!!!

The same thing happened after Chris Metzen left. For years people were coming on here and demanding he get fired, but once he actually left he became a paragon saint.

This is all true.

I’m indifferent about Ythisens being laid off. I never like seeing anyone get fired but I also didn’t like that Yak, hence the indifference.

I never wanted Metzen to leave. :frowning:
