Odd text files in wow folder

so as of this patch and what i can find on another thread, there are 2 text files that appear to be in the account folders for wow players under wtf folder that are as follows:
flagged-cache-account & the second being tts-cache-account.

are these safe to delete or will deleting cause negative actions against us?

The WTF, Cache and Interface folders are the three involved in a proper reset UI. Whether you delete, move or rename those during a reset - they get recreated fresh when you log in.

im well aware of those 3 folders being recreated when resetting the UI to its vanilla format, was asking about the two files specifically. they werent a thing before the patch hit

Unless there’s a particular reason beyond “they look suspicious,” you should never go into a folder of one of your installed programs and start deleting files.

For certain technical fixes, you will delete cache and certain folders and rename files, but again, that’s when you’re in pursuit of a fix for some problem.

There’s definitely nothing to be gained by deleting two text files from your WoW installation except a couple kilobytes of hard drive space. On the flip-side of that, there’s quite possibly something to be lost if the system uses those files for some purpose.

If you’re nervous, just run whatever AVS you have and then rest assured, you can ignore those two text files. You could also move them and see if the system re-creates them, you could rename them and see if they’re re-created, etc.

If the system keeps re-creating them, I’d leave them alone. Actually I’d leave them alone in the first place, but if you are dead set on removing them, at least renaming or moving them would prove whether or not deletion is futile.

the reason i mentioned it is because my 2 NA wow accounts both have them listed in their wtf folders but my eu account license does not. however ive heard via that post i linked from the other thread in my original post that once you log in to the game supposedly they get added.

which would explain why my eu account doesnt have them as i havent played it since march of this year or so.

im not sure if its true but i feel like with regard to the tts one thats tied to the new tts change the patch brought with tts settings being saved server side or something like that. to add onto this some of my toons when logging into them got a pop up about the game asking me if i wanted to save/confirm adding new tts settings that would overwrite anything pre existing from my understanding outside of the game as well as in game.

im not someone that personally uses tts or benefits off it so i clicked cancel personally to close the window.

As the two files are in the WTF folder, resetting your UI involves removing that folder and the system then recreates them, it should be safe to delete them. (Sorry for the long sentence.) The game will just recreate them the next time you log in.
They are just text files. They contain numbers, likely representing something new added with patch 9.1.5. There is nothing in them that would cause problems on your system.
