Hi all!
a friend of mine purchased Shadowlands for me. Every time I try to claim the gift, it gives me an internal error and tells me I am unable to claim. I submitted a ticket but the ticket is “request a refund” and I truly don’t want that, I just want to play Shadowlands and claim my gift, and hoping a forum post might help!

We’re seeing some errors with some backend services right now that may be interfering with your ability to claim the gift. Work is ongoing to clear that up.
The good news is that I can see the gift has been successfully delivered, and is just waiting to be claimed. None of these errors have removed or broken that gift for you.
Sorry for the trouble though! If I get any further updates I can share, I’ll post here. Right now, we wait…

I’ll add for anyone else that might need the info – this appears to be affecting account level changes/updates such as claiming gifts or adding a subscription. It may not be limited to just those two things, as the investigation is ongoing.

Just redownloaded the game (been away since April) and went to reactivate my account.
I updated all my info and authenticated everything.
When I try to pay for a new sub, I keep getting a error 500 message.
So, thinking it was a payment method issue, I removed all my payment info and added in my new payment info.
Still getting the same error 500 message.
Not really sure what else to be doing at this point, I’d like to play but Blizz doesn’t like my money?

Understandable. I was waiting to see if we were going to get more reports here before making changes to the thread topic

Hello,
I am currently not subscribed, and am unable to re-subscribe to WoW, either in the 6 months, 3 months, or 1 month method. I am able to log into the game with a character who’s level is less than 20 without issue and play. I do not want to spend my gold subscribing either. I keep getting the error message/code:
500: Internal Server Error
Whoops! Something went wrong. Please try again later.
Error code: BLZWEBBMPZZL4W
I have updated my CC information, my add-blocker is not an issue, I am not running a VPN, and I am unable to submit a ticket. I am not sure what else I can do. Please let me know if it is something on my end, or something that needs to be done on your end, thank you.

Update:
They’re going to be doing a maintenance for the next 1.5 hours or so. This is going to impact a portion of users, but once they are done with that work things should go back to normal.
I’ll post again if there are any further changes to that timeline.

Can I have you all try again, both claiming your gift and / or setting up a subscription?
For subscriptions, you may need to clear your cache or try a completely different browser - just to make sure you get the latest connections/site changes.

Have an update on my issue.
It seems some addition files needed to be downloaded.
I closed out everything Battlenet and WoW related and tried to start the game through the Administrator link, which triggered the downloader again.
Once it finished whatever it was downloading, I was able to go back in and restart my subscription no problem.
It has since begun to download something else but my subscription issue appears to have resolved itself.

Thanks for the update you two. The maintenance work they were doing seems to have wrapped up early so things should be back to normal. Your reports help to confirm that.
We’ll keep an eye out for anything new going on. I’ll leave this topic open a little longer for any new weird reports
