At least this Fixes the insane amount of win-trading that we on oceanic were 100% going to have . Central servers should never be an option for Oceanic though.

Hello. I just want to acknowledge that this was a deliberate step taken to prepare for PvP in the Burning Crusade Classic.

As a result, we expect to see:

• Better PvP queue times for players on Oceanic realms.
• Better Arena matchmaking for Oceanic players.
• A much higher likelihood of Oceanic players being able to meaningfully compete for end-of-season rewards.

On that last point, remember that all of the realms in the Americas and Oceania are part of the same region, and Arena season rewards are region-wide. We don’t want to see Oceanic players prevented from earning rewards because they aren’t being matched up against the vast majority of the region.

200+ ms with no batching isnt competitive and definitely doesnt improve the quality of our games.

For anyone from OCE who actually wanted to seriously play arena, this means TBC is effectively dead on arrival.

Playing BGs with that kind of ping is just not an enjoyable experience and will turn away OCE who like to play casually with friends.

For arena, there is just no way that playing with 200ms at a high level is feasible. Milliseconds can easily be the difference between winning and losing.

Having shorter queues is not a valuable trade off. This honestly reeks of Retail syndrome where a slight convenience is added in return for lowering the overall quality massively with a change that no one asked for.

just tested a level 60 Arena skirmish where all 4 people were playing from OCE (arugal) but the server was still hosted in NA, GL gamers, im out til/if it gets reverted

Lets see:

1. Will every BG/Arena always have the latency in favor of the US team? How does the system determine which region host the arena match?

2. Classic and TBC PVP are totally different. You cannot compare the PVP participation numbers of classic wow with TBC classic. Many players who never even bothered playing PVP in classic due to the scuffed honor system will frequently participate in TBC PVP. I highly doubt you will see dead BG queues on TBC as in classic.

3. I think most players would be ok with sharing BG’s with the US if it meant better queue times in low supply periods. Arena though is not ok, this is a poor decision. Fix underlying issues with the rating system instead of punishing us.

4. Will we expect to see frequent OCE Bg’s during peak OCE player times? Is the classic TBC queue system smart enough to allocate OCE players to their own battleground if there’s enough in queue like on retail?

5. OCE players are very protective of their lower pings, especially after years of original classic, TBC, etc. where we lived in the shadow of US players connections.

as stated above, i’ve now had both a warsong gulch where 17/20 were from OCE and the server was still NA, and now an Arena Skirmish with all 4 people from OCE still hosted on NA servers, so it might be timezone based since its still NA peak and early morning US? either way it feels horrible to play.
