Can you please make it so if Oceanic or Ausy, or South American player connect to US realms they CAN NOIT BE LEADER! I normally sit at 30-40 ms, but tonight i got dragged to an oceanic realm for LFR and sat at 10k ms. The group apparently kill council somehow while for half the raid the boss was still at 48%. Group said to reload and it will help, but by that time the loot was gone and i got credit for the kill and no loot. If they want to play on our servers let them, but they can’t be the leader!

This isn’t an Oceanic problem. The latency between US and Oceanic generally sits around 180 - 250 ms, which is completley playable 10k was some other problem.

That’s not how it works, if you are on a high ping it’s because you connected to an OCE server.

This is the first season that I’ve actually had connection issues with Oceanic players. It could just be that it’s early in the season and higher traffic just meant more connection problems because my usual game time ends up being prime time for them while most of North America players are in bed.
Had a dungeon where my latency actually went up to be noticeable like the 400 to 600 range with Oceanic players. They brought up there’s a program to download and pay for to remedy that problem, but seems like simply not grouping is the path of least resistance.

I think what they mean is it isn’t fair for either side, they don’t want our ping and we don’t want their ping.

Yeah 10k is not because of our connection that’s a whole other problem. Go do the tracert / path ping tio oceanic wow (Google the ip) the you will then see if that’s the issue and if so where in the connection it breaks.

Can’t you just set your own role as leader and avoid this entirely?
I came to the forums to make this gripe myself. Give them their own server locations and disconnect them from NA. The CA and SA servers are nothing but toxic group busters more often than not, and the OCE servers destroy the playability of instances if they’re group lead because of the trash latency.
Nothing personal against the OCE folks. There are a lot of good ones. Cross-server/region with them is terrible though and should have been addressed ages ago.
When I’m in LFG I avoid them all. Can’t do anything but take deserter in LFR or RDF.
This was not an issue of OCE, then.
You should expect pings in the hundreds when connecting with OCE, but I’ve never had it be a problem in mid range keys or raiding at least up to Heroic.
As for SA, the ping difference is so negligible that even complaining about it is pretty stupid. I ping 60ms to my friends in Brazil in just about any game we play together, with high ends on the 80-120 depending on game.
I don’t know how Aussie stand playing with such terrible ping. Anything over 100ms is not worth playing.

The ping is the same… on their own server. When connected to NA it goes up to 150-250, entirely playable.
NA ISP’s don’t value connections outside of NA the same way that the rest of the world does to NA. They don’t pay for efficient routes. You get what you pay for.

For 10 years we had bad pings and when we complained about latecy were told “git better”.
Then when a bunch of servers were set up in Australia the howls of rage and anguish from US players on those servers getting the same pings we got was hilarious.
Apparently when we Australians get bad latency its tough luck, but if someone in the US gets the same latency the world is ending.
Zero sympathy found for OP unfortunately.
