[OCE] PLEASE allow OCE players to raid on OCE ping!

We had a survey for shadowstrike and blizzard decided that means you guys don’t get to transfer as well. I don’t know why they did that but it wasn’t our fault.

Option 1. HOWEVER:

Players should be able to make the choice themselves about what is more important; playing on OCE ping, or playing on a PVE realm.

Give Penance players 2 options.

  1. Transfer to Shadowstrike (PVP) and play on OCE ping on a PVP server.
  2. Transfer to Wild Growth (PVE) and play on NA ping.

All players deserve to choose what they want to do with their own characters and sub that they pay for.

Freedom for all OCE players.

Option 3 for OCE.

The first issue is that you were already aware of how this impacts oceanic because it was a similar situation in season of mastery on swamp of sorrows.

It’s crazy to me that you didn’t have any plan or preparation for the exact same event that happened 3 years ago knowing the impact it had on our region.

1.Penance should be able to transfer to shadowstrike or wildgrowth give them a choice.

2.Shadowstrike should stay a pvp realm what you should do if your serious about addressing population problems here is open FCM’s to shadowstrike from all NA/OCE realms and let people have the option to come here.

3.This is unacceptable because it force kills our server splits the oceanic community further and isn’t really giving people who want to stay on oceanic any choice its essentially go to NA play on 240ms or quit the game. (Same situation in SOM i was forced to Jom Gabbar and quit 2 weeks later)

4.Tailor solutions for shadowstrike that promote people transfering here and promote player growth.

a.Unban gdkp’s will bring back a lot of players
b.Look at potential xp increases or even boosts whether its to lvl 40,50 or 60

You’ve admitted that oceanic is naturally a smaller region so the solutions/game design you implement for NA does not work always with OCE this is why the gdkp ban had such a negative impact on our servers population. (We know you have the data that supports this)

If you want to be transparent and honest then do so but saying a billion dollar company can’t provide any acceptable solution to a problem over 3 years old to an entire region of paying customers isn’t an acceptable thing.

Then why not take steps to help the server before making a decision ?

GDKP Proposal for Shadowstrike

Shadowstrike players should be given the opportunity to transfer and play with a playerbase thats the size of the Phase 1 Playerbase.

Not held captive by some trolls spamming the forums

Cool then lets allow free transfers whenever people want to any server like runescape. That’d be sick.

It’s ok to be afraid of change.

But you speak for only yourself.

All players deserve to make their own choice.

Option 3 for OCE.

My two cents for option 1 or option 3. I don’t have an opinion on Shadowstrike but I already have 130 ping to Penance and I want to play with more people.

Option 1: Free Penance!

They won’t do that they won’t even open transfers to shadowstrike because there will be people who come here.

They can’t even figure out there gdkp ban killed a large amount of the playerbase and revert it but then talk about population issues its literally a circus.

GDKPs are crap, benefits people who play alot and forces people who dont play a lot to buy gear and buy gold resulting in bans and what not.

The only circus on display lately is the one you run and it’s looking pretty miserable now, isn’t it?

The biggest clown in the circus.

You do not speak for anybody.

Freedom for all OCE players to make their own choices.

Option 3 for OCE.

If SS is so happy than a free transfer wont have any impact. Let the players make the choice that was offered to every other NA and EU player.

First of all, thank you for writing a thorough response to the oceanic community concerns. However after reading the blue post, it drives me to voice out my concern about this issue.

  1. I find that it is utterly a disappointment that oceanic realm transfer was halted just two minutes away from the opening time. Since the original blue post was announced 27days ago, there should be enough time to make changes. Also, Many of us who wanted to transfer, have planned and reserved ample time to sort out their inventories and other arrangements. This event made us falter if our time is worth spending on blizzard games.
  2. Shaodowstrike had lost its volume of players since second phase. In this current phase, the population has been further reduced to a point that there is almost to zero group activities past peak hours which is around 10-11pm. Based on history of wow population from my experience, when a server has a population drops, guilds will merge and people will find their own way to fit in. Hence this is a voluntary transfer, why was this action called off because of ping related issue?
  3. I can see why a lot of players have raised their concerns about server ping. I live in east coast canada with a ping roughly 256ms on a oceanic server like arugal and shadowstrike. I have to admit it is not optimal when doing high end pvp and pve. Yet, I remain enjoying the oceanic community regardless of the high ping. I don’t agree on “'3.'FCMs option almost certainly kills the AU realms”. As I mentioned in point 2, shadowstrike has been struggling with numbers for guilds to raid since Sunken Temple, and this is only the start of level 60 “end game” content phases. If Molten Core raid is a starting point of all “end game” raids, can shadowstrike population survive in future raiding content like bwl, aq40 which requires more knowledge, organization and world buffs?
Lastly, I would like to say I am just another player who wants to be able enjoy SoD classic like everyone else, to be able to find groups to play with, and to enjoy a world buff being announced every few minutes. The announcement of servers merging made me excited about the future of SoD, but the last minute oceanic FCM halt kills my passion to keep going. Please let us choose what’s best for us and enjoy SoD the best way we can…For example:
  4. transfer to CC like the original announcement
  5. transfer to closest ping server nearest oceanic regions;
pve - wild growth (roughly 150ms for aussie)

You can’t even put a coherent sentence together i speak for you.

Here is a possibly unpopular opinion. Merge Shadowstrike and Penance with wildgrowth. Dont give anyone the choice , do it and those that wish to leave…can leave.

I know the argument , “but we want to retain or pvp status” , lets be honest not one actually pvp’s on shadowstrike out of battleground weekends if they are ranking so the change to a pve realm is inconsequential. People will argue stupidly that world pvp is corner stone to thiermplaystyle but we all know the only pvp in the world that happens is of a toxic predatory nature that does not truly embody the spirit of pvp anymore.

The major concern is the US latency and whilst i agree this is a genuine issue its a concern that is currently out of the control of blizzard as formerly explained regardless of the comments by so called weekend warriors who think they know better.

this is about longevity and the numbers dont lie. your trying to accomodate 3500 AU players approx and the fairest way is to transfer them all to wildgrowth as the population both horde and alliance is reasonably fairly split as is wildgrowth.

be smart move both penance and shadowstrike to wildgrowth as we lall know Crusader is gunna be overcrowded as is.

To those that are preparing to flame me IDC , this is the mostb reasonable fair smart choice. you either die on SS or move to WG and leave voluntarily with your stubborness and pride in tact

find it funny so much fuss over this whole ping issue. i play on wildgrowth. one of our tanks is located in Austrailia. he has no ping issues. alot of fuss over something that most likely wont be an issue for most

So you are canadian on an oceanic server advocating to kill an entire server and force an entire region onto horrible latency that you yourself admit is not optimal.

Seems legit why should someone who isn’t even part of the oceanic region have any input on what happens to our region ?
