OCE player stop complaining about price changes

If we were operating on pure survival of the fittest, the vast majority of us wouldn’t be alive to speak here right now. I would bet good money that most of the people posting here wouldn’t fit into ‘the fittest’ - I certainly don’t, not literally or metaphorically.

One thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to create value far exceeding the materials it was made from. This is essentially the basis of capitalism - turning something into more something - but it’s a concept we can use to better the lives of our fellow human beings, as well.

The concept of taxes, for example, is essentially turning a little bit of money from each person, into (ideally) societal good for all.

We are not animals. We may have base instincts, but we’re also self-aware enough to be conscious of them. We’re clearly not following them mindlessly, else we wouldn’t have come as far as we have.

Wait did I just hear you right?

Because people earn more they should have to pay more for goods and services?

What kind of crap is that.

Don’t give me that tripe. You can survive and thrive without marking up essential medications 1000% or more.

People have literally died because they refused to go to the hospital because they didn’t want to put their family in crippling debt. It is horrible.

If you defend this system as it currently is, you’re ignorant or terribly unempathetic.

The game isn’t the issue. The game is irrelevant.

I’m talking about the serious problems we have here in the states.

Anyway… I’m going to leave you folks to it. This topic–and the folks that deny the issue–anger me so allow me to apologize for derailing and step out of the discussion.

Carry on folks.

We have job seeker

Yes, and the same thing happens with every product. No one is willing to stop using something when they’re upset. That is a huge issue.

No kidding they can change it and I’ll also change my spending to compensate but I think if they want to complain the whole day long, they can. Too bad for you, you can leave the forums if you need a break, similar to how we can adjust spending our money, you can adjust how you spend your time.

Just like you they can complain, I can also tell them not to complain.

Yep you’re right, it’s just funny tbh.

But they’re not, that’s how international exchange works. They are charging us more, because $15 USD is more money to us. It takes up a larger percentage of our income to pay the same amount. An Australian could work the same number of hours in the same job and receive less money.

A Big Mac in Australia is cheaper than in the US because you charge someone for a good or service a price that is relative to their real financial conditions rather than the price in some other country.

Things are cheaper in countries where people make less money, big shocker.

I certainly wouldn’t suggest that,. but a quick check of subscription charges in various South American countries seems to indicate that what they pay for a monthly sub is a lot less than what you or we do. Now, my research could be wrong, but their sub rates do seem to be fairly low and I can only assume they are based on local economic conditions.

Very good insight into their business

That is exactly correct.

their sub rates are low because of content draught

That is garbage. Imagine a world where everything is charged based on a % of your income it takes up. It’s a terrible idea of a system and it shouldn’t exist anywhere. It’s not the rest of the world fault or problem if someone elses wages are garbage. That is for their country to fix.

Oof.

Economics is hard.

Damned right! Let them eat cake! Or possibly pizza. And in countries where there is pizza, pineapple will be a requirement.

Wait, what?

If the price goes up, then that would mean their country as a whole, economically, is doing great.

Yes they can. And we can be annoyed and complain about that.
