[OCE PING] Lone wolf (US West) > Crusader Strike (US Central)

Lone wolf (US West) has lower ping for oceanic players than Crusader Strike (US Central).

Why are we being forced onto the higher ping option?

200ms better than 280ms??

You’re welcome

Lone Wolf is MST, not PST…

in-game server time is not the physical server location…
ping doesn’t decrease because they change the in-game clock

Actual locations are:

West Coast Data Center:

  1. Lone Wolf (PvP)
  2. Wild Growth (Normal)
  3. Chaos Bolt (RP-PvP)
  4. Lava Lash (RP)

Central Data Center:

  1. Living Flame (PvP)
  2. Crusader Strike (RP-PvP)

For apparently malicious reasons, Blizzard has forced OCE players onto literally the worst server possible.

There is a 45-50ms difference in latency for OCE between West Coast and Central servers. ie from WA, Wild Growth is 185ms while Crusader Strike is 245ms.

It’s like they had a meeting to decide the absolute best way to give OCE players the absolute worst experience possible.

You think they planned this as some evil trick? lol… Planned? REally?

245ms is still less than the 500ms response time that was built into classic. 245ms is literally 1/4 of a second. You might think you are super good but you aren’t reacting that fast to anything, nor do you need to.

Thanks for the smooth brained response. I assume you’d have no issue with them moving Crusader Strike to the OCE data centre then?

none at all. 245ms is nothing. Classic launched with 500ms and was perfectly playable. My best healer is in Japan and absolutely kills it. I have raiders in Hawaii and other military bases around the world and you’d never know if they didn’t tell you.

same boat. I had 30ms on lonewolf (west coast), now all the options for pvp are 65ms or higher, which blows for pvp.

East coast has the biggest player count across every single game.

Cool story, but Blizzard themselves said that a 250ms ping is acceptable and doesn’t make a difference. Surely then using a west coast server would be the best compromise for everyone - a tiny 40ms bump for east coast players and a massive difference for everyone else.

The only situation this wouldn’t make sense would be if Blizzard were lying about ping making no difference.

Honestly if I didn’t have to manually transfer my character over and know it was a US realm I would have never noticed the latency was even over 200.

Like I remember back in the day playing melee dps and having to be in front of someone running at the same speed of me to make sure I could hit them.

Now it feels like, well nothing really and I barely noticed it.

The only time I ever noticed ping in wow ever is when AR is up on my outlaw rogue in retail

lololol 35ms difference and you think it affects your pvp? You aren’t that good

You’re not “forced” they’re just…shutting off character creation and stopping people from transferring to that server. B-BUT you can still play on it SEE?! so its not forcing you to transfer…its just not ok??

Because Lone Wolf wont exist soon. I know it’s really tough for you guys to accept this, but Blizzard doesn’t care at all about the ~1,000 Australian SoD players.
