[OCE] OK, really though - let's merge OCE back into a US battlegroup

As far as I can tell, your options are either wait longer in queue or not be able to play at all with ridiculous ping.

So, I don’t exactly know how instanced content works in TBCC, but on Retail, it’s actually based off leader’s location. So if OCE is lead with x4 NA, all x4 NA players are at risk to have lag.

Some servers, like Kel’Thuzard (the one I play on), all OCE lag out ALL THE TIME. I can’t be with OCE either.
But I also got an alt on Area-52, and OCE never lags outs and I can play with them at good 100-120 MS.

So, having said that, when you join a 2v2, who is the host? As in, which server hosts the match. It’s either you lag or other team.

How does it screw you over if it is “optional”. For you nothing changes. You still queue OCE only, still get sub 100 ms and still play exclusively OCE teams.

For anyone who doesnt care about latency, they at least have options to get sub 30 min queues for common content outside peak hours.

The issue for 3v3 at the moment is probably that players would rather play 5v5 for big points, or 2v2 because it’s easier to form and a very saturated bracket with high ratings and fast queues.
It might be an idea for Blizzard to tweak the points gained from the brackets so that 3v3 is more attractive again.

Personally I don’t want to merge BGs and Arenas with the US. I don’t want the lag.

We’ve already got ally vs ally and horde vs horde BGs, so there’s no problem getting into a BG.

Please don’t encourage arena competitors to transfer to the US for ‘faster queues’ because it exacerbates the problem further.

Again i couldnt speak for anyone, but if the choice is optional, i would make it so US is ALWAYS the host.

I can see where many would disagree, but personally I am ok with playing with an ms disadvantage, this is why I am fone playing on NA. But i dont want other players to be adversly affected by my choice.

It would probably be more complicated to code on the back end however. As you say, it currently checks the instance hosts location and goes off that.

But there is a HUGE problem with OCE BGs that i have highlighted for you in the past.

OCE BGs are NOT random at all. When there are only 1-2 games going you are GUARANTEED to have 90%+ the same opponents and the same team you queued with. So if you lose by a large margin, your loss rate is 100% until you get enough players to mix up the teams. Having access to the NA player pool will mean less 5 stack premades and a much MUCH more even BG experience than current OCE.

this would be absolutely ideal

there are just no where near enough teams to have a healthy pvp community on oce, queues are dead the large majority of the time.

we don’t want to transfer off to play on US because we raid on these characters and enjoy being part of the oce community on them too

just give us the option to play on the us west battlegroup from oce, it’s not that hard

I disagree, people play a game or two then other players switch in.

For example last night I did 2x Arathi Basin, we got smashed the first game because it was against a very good horde premade. The second game was quite different, it was close.

Plus if you’re losing a lot, group with PvPers to better your chances.

But this just feeds into the fact that because our player pool is so small, it is hilariously easy to manipulate.

If i get a 5 stack and the horde have none queing, i am sitting on a 100% win rate for as long as I want to ride it out, or until an equally geared 5 stack queues on the other faction.

I wish i could show you my BG historian logs. Of over 250 BGs 90% of wins/lossess occur in streaks of 3+ (had streaks of 12 wins when queing in a 5 stack). While it isnt entirely due to me qeuing into/against the same teams… most of it is.

That’s not really true, I ran a 5-stack last night, but 2 of us were undergeared. We got smashed by the Horde premade on the other side.

If you’re running a 5-man, OCE or NA, you’ve increased your chance of winning but it’s not 100%.

But thats not the point i am making. In my scenario i had a 5 stack of geared alliance players queuing into Eots. There were 2 gamea going. We won game after game because in those 2 BGs NONE of the horde had patricularly great gear and they were lacking healers.

So we just rode out effortless win after effortless win because out of the 30 horde queing, none of them could even put up a fight.

A different scenario might be there are only 1-2 WSG going. And horde have NO druid FC queing, while alliance have a really good FCs queing. We just get free wins most of the time because non-Druid FCs are laughably easy to deal with in a PUG BG compared to a druid FC.

yeah I get what you’re saying but it just doesn’t seem like that big a deal to me.

It wouldn’t screw anyone else over, because the queue system prioritises OCE with OCE, and only looks for USW teams if there are no OCE teams to pair you with.

So, effectively - you’d only play a USW team if there are NO OCE games available. I.e. you’ll only play USW team in a scenario where you otherwise WOULDN’T GET TO PLAY AT ALL.

If you don’t like USW ping, you can simply not play, and wait until OCE peak time to play again. If we weren’t merged, you still wouldn’t be playing since there was no OCE game available.

Why do the dent brains not realise we’re asking for the retail system of merge here? Give OCE vs OCE queues priorities, if the queue is too long then we queue into the US teams.

The people debating against the merge generally aren’t high enough for it to matter for them anyway.

I updated the post to clarify, sorry for the misunderstanding.

+1 to this, OCE arena isn’t that enjoyable in its current state. Just re-merge the battlegroups that way the OCE PvErs are still happy because they get their OCE ping and the PvPers are also happy because they get to PVE on OCE ping and PvP with more variety (with the odd chance they q into a OCE team and still PvP on an OCE server/ping)

I hate you so much, I can’t even put it into words.

People want to PvP while also being able to play with friends and PvE.

There is currently no option to do so. OCE DOES NOT HAVE THE POPULATION FOR IT’S OWN PVP BATTLEGROUP. Get that through your thick skull.

I know you don’t PvP because it’s clear. Just shut up and keep not queuing and you will not notice a different if we are relinked to NA.

People like you and Tidy are just going to ruin it for those that do PvP.

Again I hate you and you are awful at the game, rampage spec warrior.

Ehila has spent 3 seasons at 1400, how the fk is NA ping gonna change that.

Like congrats you finally got out this season. You are now 1700 playing rdruid/warrior, like congrats??? Do you really think that comp is hard enough to get 1700 at 200 ping??

3’s you play double healer warrior. Like come on.
