OCE Inviting Only OCE

I’ve run w OCE and had a good time :woman_shrugging:

I am all for OCE playing with OCE only. I cannot stand running dungeons with Barthilag players. Nothing against them personally, it’s just the ping is too great.

Ping? What did Ping do to get into such trouble? If it’s lag then I would think it was more upload speed and download speed rather than ping.

Ping it self doesn’t do much other than … well … ping.

After years of Americans complaining about ping when they join our groups, we just put it there as a friendly warning now.

i guess you weren’t around before oceanic servers were located in sydney.

good luck getting invited to anything of substance if you were oceanic and not using a proxy.

Your English seems OK?

they speak a SPECIAL kind of english. also they tend to use words that us speaking english speakers find abhorrent.

I get some massive ping issues with OCE, 300+ ms, with NA at most I get like 230 or so if they are from the west coast so I appreciate when they put OCE in their group’s name.

Why do you care, OCE players are a minority, and it really is to avoid ping issues. You’re literally less efficient if your ping is high.

Meh different dialect, i’m from Québec, i’m used to these variations since the French say we speak a “special” kind of French, lol.

yes im talking more like the c word here.

I won’t invite OCE. The chance of them getting in through a loading screen first and giving me 300 MS is not worth it.

It’s nothing against OCE players either. I enjoy playing with people from OCE realms when they’re cool people, just like I would anyone else. The ping is simply not worth it though.

There’s addons (and Weakauras) that denote server region. OCE isn’t anything negative, but the hosts usually, respectfully post that the groups are OCE. To us NA players it’s a warning to expect high latency. It’s not unplayable, but it is a major handicap in dangerous content.

Amusingly, I’ve done Sludgefist on OCE and it was intensely stressful. lol

Oh it’s just a word them aussies use, ain’t no harm 'bout it.

in the us its a forbidden word.

Yup, I’ve met a lot of great OCE players I just can’t stand the lag.

Only if you’re overly sensitive.

using it in the us is enough to get you arrested.

I don’t invite OCE players to my group because of ping. Either I’ll get 700+ ms or they will. No one has fun that way. I wish it wasn’t the case, since bfa I’ve seen great players from OCE servers but I just can’t group with them for a key and not have lag issues.
