300MS Arena is unplayable, can’t cast abilities and people constantly jumping around on my screen. WHO ASKED FOR THIS CHANGE??
Raises hand nervously
Have had nothing but 50-90ms games, can play at any time of day, in any bracket with little to no queue times…
I just see a net win here.
That’s impossible I think, but yea more like 140-190. Totally fine, especially for most people who won’t ever play on a level where it makes a giant difference
man OCE people been crying for months on NA forums to get queued with us.
now that its done you’re complaining
I am having a deja vu feeling
Nice troll. I get 200-240 ping playing from South East Asia. 180-220 ping if I use ExitLag. It is physically impossible for you to have 300 ms playing from Aus as Aus is logistically closer to the Americas. You’d be getting 140-180 and probably closer to 100 if you used ExitLag which is only 5 dollars a month. If you can’t spare an extra 5 dollars you shouldn’t be gaming to begin with. Note: I’m not even getting the full 180-220 ping that I tested on a lvl 1 on the popular US realms. I’m getting 135-160 at the moment queueing from oce servers. So there might even be an element of ping sharding going on as well.
It depends.
I play from Europe and it can spike. Thankfully not during H+
You did lol
didnt this happen in vanilla classic then they reverted it like a day later
Oceanic players: Oceanic pvp is dead, please merge us with NA!
Oceanic players: nooo why did you do that now our ms is 300!
no one’s MS is 300 mate these guys must live in Mongolia or something
It is the inconsistency. You got from sub 40MS to either US West, Central, or East. Varying on your own internet (I am in QLD) you can go anywhere from 200ms to 400ms.
Going from relatively good ping up to 400MS is ridiculous. A 10x increase in ping that you have to adjust to on a match-by-match basis, on top of the RNG of adjusting to a new team to verse which has it’s own variables.
It’s adding complexities for complexity sake. If you want to play with US players, play on a US server.
Dad-gamer alert.
I support this change - oceanic player on 150ms
All good here, I was 170 ping anyways from Asia, so for me only change for the better and the pool of arena players is sooo much better.
1 to 60- had the Illusion of it could get better with several servers…mostly dead.
the 3 servers left…have issues.
this is one way trip this time really. No more well maybe it gets more people.
those wanting to stay oce…will have to deal with it. As option 2 is literally transfer to US and maybe get a better ping.
I play from japan to US servers now. used to be oce. both games. I got better ping not going to oce servers anymore. that route has high costs to use networking lingo. my japan to us is way less ping.
they could ask blizzard to check route… They could also ask a brick wall to become a giraffe.
the brick wall…would be more successful than asking blizzard.
when retail gets a week solid of 400+ ping, and for a time it was a monthly thing ( 1 week a month ping jsut crapped on itself), they’d say it aint them.
we didn’t change out internets, they patched, 400 ms ping. Okay…
We don’t always get US West servers, we also get US East servers - how did you miss that?
THAT is physically impossible to not get 300ms from all regions of Australia. And that is assuming that through all the hops along the way there is 0 congestion and no packet loss, which is wishful thinking over such a long stretch.
It’s perfectly acceptable if you just assume that people in Australia only live on the East coast, you have to remember that from one side of Australia to the other is the same as the distance from one side of the US to the other.
Exit lag wouldn’t be an option if your exit point is US East, as then if you by chance get q’d into an OCE server, you then double you latency beyond what it would be if you didn’t use exit lag at all.
I get that for quite a few people it works great and won’t be an issue, but just remember you’re not the only person in the universe - everything that works for you doesn’t work for everyone else.
EDIT: Just as a interesting side-note, you can get better latency from Perth to EU wow servers than you can to US West (LA) servers.
Pretty much everyone in OCE that I know of wanted this…
Either you play with 200ms and <1min queues or you play with 20ms and 20min queues.
If you live in an echo chamber of course everyone is going to say the same thing, that’s what groupthink is.
The sheer amount of posts saying that OCE arena is dead and people complaining about arena queues warrants the change.
I only ever saw a small handful of posts. And they were necro’d occasionally by the same few people wanting a merge.
