Of course they are different groups.
But it’s only 1 video game.

Seriously. If they really wanted to us to love the game more they would of made all of this account wide so no one would have to grind rep on 10+ alts
I have this theory that if they make things account wide but they don’t mention it that it won’t be a problem because no one will complain about it being account wide.
Just a theory, probably will be proven wrong lol.
So what’s the go with mains then?
Are they going to still earn the currency? Can they buy an essence and send it to an alt? Will the currency be converted to gold, or just build up? I wouldn’t mind either, I’m just not sure what my main gets. If it’s nothing, it seems kinda strange. I mean, I’ll still be doing things on him, and to have this just build up…
Why would mains get anything it’s a catchup system for alts?
Like I really don’t understand the issue. Let us take my druid I boosted like 3 weeks ago. He’s like…450 or something. I don’t remember. Out of all the things I would PROBABLY get done we have:
A +10 key: 230
All 3 Assaults: 275
Conquest Cap from world quests and whatnot: 175
Probably 3-4 Horrific Visions: 400-ish
We are at 2 essences without either touching the raid or doing a single emissary. These numbers are FAR easier compared to what I said they probably would be which put it at about 1-1.5 a week.
All you have to do to get your cloak is the 2 assaults
it takes a little over an hour, most of that being travel time
Looks at 380 ilvl alts with disgust and anger
takes off belt and closes door
These numbers are FAR easier compared to what I said they probably would be which put it at about 1-1.5 a week.
To be fair, you’re counting the 200 echoes you’d receive the following week for that +10 keystone.
I did it this week on a 380 shadow priest, and all i did was the little mini objectives and rares (prioritizing the ones with mounts). Didn’t take long,
right, I feel like people didn’t actually look at the numbers
And I want a double jointed super model to lick peanut butter off my toes, but it looks like I’m taking what I can get. Seriously?
If a Rank 3 Essence has been earned by another character on your account, MOTHER will offer that Rank 3 Essence for 500 Echoes of Ny’alotha . Any player who is eligible to purchase at least one Essence from MOTHER will now receive Echoes of Ny’alotha from a wide range of activities in current content.
This is a great change that is long overdue.
There are still some numbers that need revisiting even for rank 3 though.
Some of the rep ones, nazjatar follower ones, or EP ones seem particularly punishing. Luckily a lot of classes can just flat out skip them, which doesn’t seem like a good solution.
The above is largely the reason why it felt so punishing in the first place. I doubt many people are too angry of regrinding focusing iris repeatedly (basically just do M+ which you were likely doing anyways).
It’s those nasty ones that sucked the first time (still suck) and are just awful awful the second or third time around.
This is better then I dared hope. I’m looking forward to playing some alts in the near future.
Good thing they didnt make the numbers result in having to wait longer to get the essences through this means than the original method. Ill be glad to have my lucid dreams within a week instead of several : /
So you absolutely weren’t alone then? Those 8.3 mobs kick. my. butt. Could I do it? Absolutely, but I don’t want to deal with it I don’t do tough content, I do WQs and … sometimes heroic dungeons, timewalking dungeons, that’s about it, IEs on my Hunter.
It might suck at first but it will get better very quickly once you gear up a bit.
But if you are already 380, the wq should drop 400-410 gear. Should help a lot.
This is an issue I’ve been trying to raise using the Battleground Honor essence as an example. If I main a purely DPS class and I make a tank/healer alt, I have to regrind all that battleground honor to get their corresponding essence, when all of that could have been avoided in the first place if I had chosen to main a Druid, Monk, or Paladin. It’s an unfair advantage given to certain classed mains. Simply because my main couldn’t learn the other roles essences.
Edit: I think I misunderstood your post.
Aaaaand? What is your point? I don’t understand the point here.
I am also going to bet that I am going to open both chests on my shaman tomorrow and get like 450 of the currency since it would carry over from this week similarly to when mythic week opens up.
But if you are already 380, the wq should drop 400-410 gear. Should help a lot.
You see I want to do the legendary cloak chain so I can purge corruption off my gear but I get beat up doing the assaults So I’m hesitant to even do WQs that reward gear because if it corrupts it’s useless to me. So right now I’m just waiting on SL
But it’s easy content. You can do it while watching a show or something.
I dunno, I feel like 8.3 mobs might sting a bit more than pre8.3 mobs
Looks like I was too soon to celebrate… they expect people that havent touched their alts at all this expansion to start from scratch in a slow way with no catchup system (neck lvl, cloak) and each bloody essence costs 500 echoes and the rewards you get pennies…
it’s close to 1 essence per week… maybe 1 half if you can get into normal as alt.
welcome to the re re grind of 8.3 alts enjoy it?
