Please allow echoes to also drop from island expeditions!
True but still an improvement.
Not really, the 2 small assaults are 150, the weekly assault 125, full clear vision 150, emissary quests 350. That’s 775 from pretty easy solo content to start with and most of them also provide relative rewards which are generally good for alts at the same time.
That’s even before adding additional visions or LFR wings, darkshore, random bgs, etc. Depending on what you intend to do and how many you need it looks like you can rack them up pretty quickly.
Depends on what content you do and what you plan to do, some like the M+ one you can earn whilst collecting currency to buy a different one.
Sure your content might put you at 1 essence per week still, but at least that time is spent doing the tasks you chose and potentially rewarding compared to doing old unrewarding content from 8.2.
If your developers did a better job and this game didn’t become rental power and grind city, we’d never have had to worry about this mess in the first place. But guess what, more grind for everyone is the compromise.
Rental powers and system upon system has to go. This is terrible design to carry the bull poop from expansion to expansion, enough already. Just make classes that are fun to play and talent trees that have legitimately viable options to pick from.
I could handle one system like essences each expansion, but 3 simultaneously with traits and corruptions is just stupid. Who ever thought a limitless grindfest is fun should find a new job.
I just don’t like that you’re still forced to unlock essences you don’t have the same way.
I don’t enjoy pvp in wow, but Blood of the Enemy is really good for PVE.
BFA = Blizzard Failed AGAIN
Why does Blizzard have to keep over complicating things by adding a system on top of a system on top of a system? I understand they are trying to make it so that players are still active on the game so they can their numbers for their quarterly reports but come on. This is just ridiculous at this point.
I personally don’t mind the system but I do wish that some of the older essences were easier to obtain for those who don’t have all rank 3’s on their mains because we decided to not play this crap expansion. Not only that, making people do aspects of the game they don’t generally do to get better essences to parse… come the hell on! Blizzard really needs to understand that some people do not want to be subjected to doing things they don’t want to do at all (Such as a PvEer not wanting to do PvP and vice versa) but feel forced to because that is what is the best option is due to Blizzard RNG numbers. This has been a constant concern that Blizzard just refuses to understand.
100% behind this point. I still don’t understand why they made the dps essence in raid completely worthless for Nyalotha. If anything it’s a dps essence… FOR HEALER. It’s objectively weaker than anything you’d replace with it.
That aren’t forcing you to do anything.
You obviously don’t understand the context and seem to be a troll on this thread, thus I will not even acknowledge your lack of input from here on out.
The problem is that PvE players cried back in the day that it was too hard to get into PvP as their PvE gear wasn’t as good when thet fought players.
After years of this Blizzard crumbled and removed the distinction between PvP and PvE gear, notably stats like PvP Power and PvP resilience.
Now we don’t have PvP and PvE gear, we just have “gear” of which essences are technically a part of. It’s just a balance issue that for some the PvP ones are better in PvE due to how the specs play.
It’s a symptom of the whole “one size fits all” paradigm, which honestly cheapens the game in my opinion.
I liked the flavour of having different sets, and I liked the fact that I could collect different sets that were substantially different, it kept me with something to do.
I don’t see why PvE players should get a free pass to the top of PvP just because they slayed some dragons, each progression system should just be distinct and separate and that would fix problems like this (or conversely PvE gear being best for PvP) from occurring .
I understand the context. You’re mad about a system when you admittedly don’t even play the game. You’re posting from a classic character. You say they’re over complicating things when the only thing you have to do is run content and receive the reward. They have never made people jump into other parts of the game for good gear, people did that to themselves. Sure conflict&strife parses better but it isnt mandatory if you aren’t pushing world first. The only people who feel forced to do content are the ones who follow min/max builds just to kill heroic bosses faster every week. I wish people like you would just stop playing the game. You’re paying a subscription to complain about content you wouldn’t be good at if someone held a gun to your head.
To be fair their intial statement was explicitly about parsing, so it does make their remarks valid.
Also you might want to take care with personal attacks, it’s not in good taste and can potentially get your post silenced. Just a friendly heads up.
I wish people like you would just stop playing the game.
Your opinion is about as valid as his/hers. I’m not sure why you felt it was necessary to vocalize your opinion using your logic. Forums are the best way of communicating your opinion about things. If you were at a party of 20 people, and everyone thought the music sucked and nobody said anything, the music would never change. Try to evolve, stop being an ape and being threatened by anyone who has a different opinion than yourself. Nobody asked you to agree with them.
See what they should have done (in my opinion) when they made this god awful system was basically having multiple methods to obtain a certain essence.
Say for the sake of example that I am a pure PvPer. All of my best essences from PvP come from raiding and doing Mythic +. I don’t do those aspects of the game… THAT is the problem. I have to do stuff in the game that I would not do if I want to be the best at what I do actually do in this game.
So what Blizzard should have done is made these stupid essences obtained by more than 1 means. Like a PvPer needs a certain amount of Marks of Honor to obtain the essence instead of needing to raid and kill x amount of bosses. Some people don’t have the luxury of getting into raids and M+ groups. Just like some of the PvE’ers don’t have rank or have pvp friends that can help them get the PvP essences. Either way, they shouldn’t be punished for that.
While people can say it’s catering to the casuals, it’s really not, people would still have to work for it in a sense BUT they are doing what they do in this game naturally in order to obtain it and not forced to play parts of the game they do not want to. Raider Essences are available through raiding as normal but Pvpers can get the same essence through pvp, and even those that do neither and just do daily stuff can obtain that said essence and ranks respectively through their set currencies.
Now as far as alts. Blizzard dropped the ball on this… Again, a system on top of a system. Dumb. I just hope they really learn from this going into Shadowlands.
Also, stop feeding the troll guys.
The activities that reward Essences are all things that we believe are important to do at least once so that you become familiar with zones and stories, or to engage in aspects of the game that you may not have had a reason to try.
Why? Do you guys not understand that PvErs don’t want to PvP and vice versa? There’s a difference between giving us a reason to “try” something and making us grind crap we’ve already tried and really don’t want to do. This is a good change for alts but it’s still not fair to returning players. At least allow them to buy rank 3 essences they don’t have for an increased price.
“We’ve listened to players stating that they dislike the idea of grinding for essences on alts. Our solution is a grind that enables alts to get essences.”
Really good job here with this blizzard numbers are perfect and i will unshelf my alts now
I didn’t need to be asked either, chump.
Your ignorance is palpable.
As someone that has grinded out numerous essences on multiple alts, this is still a welcome change. And the numbers are very fair and balanced. THANK YOU for finally listening.
Next time just listen earlier in the development process.
That’s the thing, this would’ve been fair two patches ago. We’re already at the content drought, this is just a consolation prize and you still have to grind for it.
Moreso, they intentionally witheld the information until the last minute so we wouldn’t save up horrific vessels.
The general goal here is that doing Assaults and associated Horrific Visions should provide enough…
time-gating.
