It’s like saying lava lash is a bad ability because if you remove hot hands, catalyst elemental assault and molten assault it’s suddenly awful.
Pwave is bad because the effects it has can be built into other skills, so you can create a skill not called pwave that does what pwave does and now it’s suddenly good

Yeah sure if ascendance sent a bolt on each target with shock and increased your haste based on how many targets were hit it would be really cool, guess what’s also cool? It’s called pwave
“BUT YOU CAN SAVE IT FOR A HUGE DPS LOSS TO HEAL YOUR GROUP IN A KEY THO, RED CHAIN LIGHTING IS SO COOL”. As if they wouldn’t nuke the healing CH would have done if they brought it past SL.
People who think the other 3 abilities over Pwave are impressed by jangling keys. Again I’ll attest that people don’t like pwave on Enhance because they just “HUR DUR PWAVE > BOLT” 90% of the time or they stun lock themselves while trying to get the 6th shock out (which is stinky imo) and the time spent makes it DPS neutral/a loss compared to if they fired it with just 5 out.
I feel like if LMT did way more damage and it stuck 4 or 5 flame shocks out i’d be fine with it. The more annoying thing is that messing with double LMT with Recall is leaves you so GCD locked its a nightmare. I’m also a proponent that Pwave also shocks 2 other mobs around you or something for both Enhance and Ele.
It’s pretty fat on Mythic Ovinax provided you have the GCDs and time to do it. I often don’t since I’m assigned to knock the parasites in and then immediately cap.
The concept behind Chain Harvest is interesting because it gives a hybridization ability to our toolkit, somewhat similar to Ancestral Guidance. While my guild was progging Ahead of the Curve during Shadowlands, we had a really good enhance shaman that loved to use Harvest during high damage moments to help out the healers. As a healer during the time, his help was noticeable and appreciated.
I’m not saying they should bring back Chain Harvest in a 1-to-1 capacity (obviously ditch the red anima look at the very least), but a class tree talent that would allow Chain Heal and/or Chain Lightning to also damage/heal even if periodically would be a pretty cool utility for us.
Primordial Wave is lame as a healer because it’s really just one extra Riptide every 30 seconds. I can’t even notice the heal cleave staring at health bars when I follow up with a Healing Wave because the cleave has been butchered.
The people actually defending Blizz Devs keeping P-wave for Enhancement in the game are few and far between, and then they go and butcher it. It’s hard to even defend the P-wave branch of the tree anymore.
