Anyone else getting nasty rage tells from level one characters since the change allowing both factions on one account on PvP servers?
I’ve gotten them twice already this week, the last one was line after line of insults including obscenities.
On another occasion this week, someone I don’t know randomly sent me a tell with nothing but obscenities directed toward me, then sent me a tell saying “sorry, not you, alliance.” I think they intended to send a rage tell to someone else, and got the name wrong, I was just sitting in Orgrimmar on a lowbie alt that hasn’t PvPed at all.
Am I just having bad luck or is this the new norm now that people don’t have to pay an extra $15 to do it?
This was common once they removed the restrictions back in the day. Just ignore or report them and move on.

There is a small percentage of gamers that are just abject sociopaths with anger issues. Report them with as many details as you can.
Getting rid of these people is something active GMs would help with.

I used to get tells in retail from level one alts. I just found it satisfying I owned someone so bad they decided to make an alt just to tell me how bad they got owned.

thats like 90% of the pvp community in this game though. Part of why the pvp sucks soo bad this time around, nobody is there to have any fun.

It’s not only PvP, this whole community is a circus lol.

Wow. The community has really gotten super soft and weak if you’re on the forums crying about some level one alt bad mouthing you. It’s pretty standard in PVP. Maybe don’t play on PVP servers if you’re this soft?

Players are also using level 1 characters to find out what zones players are playing on to know where to hunt said players and grief them for ours on end. I.e. Horde players using level 1 Alliance character to find Alliance players they do not like and vice versa.
There REALLY needs to be an INVISIBLE option in the game for many reasons to stop players from being able to use /Who to track you or send you direct msgs. It would also be great for Guild Leaders to be able to take a break and appear offline to others in and out of the guild. This should be in Retail as well as Wrath… Sometimes players just need some personal time to quest or not be stressed out.

Or maybe, expect normal adult behavior in a game largely played by adults.
Remove the anonymity and a lot of issues are solved.
Wouldn’t the soft ones be the children hiding behind an avatar to say things they never would IRL?

Not my fault if they won’t speak their mind IRL. And not my fault little words on the internet make you cry.
Please show me the crying by OP. OP made an observation, stop projecting.

Nice troll attempt. The reality is that people expose who they really are in an environment of anonymity. Everything else is a social facade.
There is a not insignificant portion of the community that should be seeking mental healthcare.
Why do something here you wouldn’t do IRL. The people in game are still people unless you’re a sociopath (see above mental health reference).

Yes. I’m sorry. Safe spaces are very important. I apologize.

Ah strawman. So you think someone not liking some random person messaging a string of unprovoked racial slurs and obscenities is the issue. Not the person doing it?
Is that your stance?

Even Blizzard isn’t stupid enough to try to implement Real ID again.

Neither are the issue. There is no issue lol.
So harassment is not an issue in the WoW community? Shy, come on now. You know what behavior is and isn’t acceptable.
Too many crazies, but still doesn’t mean we shouldn’t help these sociopaths put by removing them when we can.
No, it’s not an issue at all. People take nothingness like this and turn it into fake somethingness.
