Patch 8.3 introduces new BoP crafted gear ranging from item levels 440 to 470. To start the process with the making of the 440 gear, however, you need to get a pattern drop from N’Zoth’s Cultists.
Does anyone know where these Cultists are located? Are they only in the new raid, Ny’alotha, the Waking City? And I wonder if the patterns can be obtained at RF level or will it require Heroic or Mythic?
The 410 alchemy trinket was available without raid, but the 425 and 440 version required drops from EP to upgrade the focusing stone at Newhome/Mezz. My guess, given the generic name of N’zoth Cultist, is that you can get the drop doing the assualts in Uldum and Vale, and further upgrades are gated behind a raid drop besides the required crafting to learn the next recipe.
You get the item to craft the void focus from trash inside the mini visions. After that, same as with the nazjatar focus, you need 20 and 200 currency to upgrade it. This time, at least in this current iteration in the ptr, said currency drops not only from raid bosses, but from world bosses and pvp (arenas, bgs).
I also doubt they will allow us to collect the shreds before the raid opens, if it’s anything like EP, the quest will be available the 2nd week of the patch.
Yes, you get 1 shard from a world boss which everyone can do easily. You can also get it from PvP now. This is an improvement from keeping it in the raids only. It is slow I admit (20 weeks of world boss kills) but it is better than having to raid if you don’t raid.
For PvE non-raiding players, you can do the world boss each week. For PvP players, you can now PvP for shards. If you do both PvE and PvP, you now have several sources for the shards rather than just raids.
So far instead of bring productive on information, you just keep complaining about well if wow doesn’t give me currency the way i wanna play than its worthless.
Crossbless go complain where its appropriate your just coming across as selfish here.
Disagreeing with you is not being productive, great logic.
Gear crafting professions should be equally useful in providing worthwhile gear to raid-focused and M+ focused players. Currently it is only for raiders while there are plenty of M+ situations in higher keys that have equal or greater individual difficulty than heroic/mythic raiding. Therefore if you only intend to push higher M+ keys, where certain gear crafted pieces would be very valuable (eg. JC rings) these professions are literally worthless to you.
Focusing on BOP-only mats for powerful profession items is OK. Allowing those items to only be acquired reliably from raiding on the PvE side is unacceptable.
I got my void focus recipe from the Black Empire assault mobs currently attacking Uldum. Rares seemed to have a fairly high drop rate on the 10 void-bit thingys needed to craft a focus, but they also dropped off any random mob as well. I had 9/10 when I had finished with the assault in Uldum and went to Vale to do that one (don’t make this same mistake, finish farming for materials until your void focus is made).
The recipes for my engineering goggles & cooking tome also dropped off random mobs in Uldum, also higher drop rate off rares.
I suggest making sure you are done with collecting the initial 10 items to craft the basic void focus first. You’ll get a quest to collect 20 other whatsits-that-drop-off-raid-bosses after you place the focus in the Heart Chamber. It’s after this point that you’ll want to save your weekly kill of Empress Bug-face in Vale, she probably won’t drop a component this week if you killed her before you set up your void focus (which is what I did, urgh).
Not a big deal if you’re clearing heroic/mythic & getting 10/20 drops per boss killed, more of a deal for people at normal & below who only get 1 per kill.
I think the tooltip says they drop from kithik, faceless, and aqir mobs. I got mine from the squid faces and the elite “faceless” mobs. Relatively low drop rate, but check the tooltip when the first one drops; it seems accurate.
You have to collect 10 void fragments from the mobs I mentioned above. When you have 10, click on the stack of them in your inventory to combine them. This will give you a quest to go see Wrathion in the heart chamber. Turn in, and you will be able to craft tier 1. He will give you a quest for the next tier.
