If the ending leads to N’zoth making an appearance in the Shadowlands I’ll be kind of ok with it, otherwise it was meh, but still better than we’ve gotten for the other old gods.
The cinematic was never going to satisfy me because Ny’alotha should have been its own expansion or at the very very least something like Argus, and just a raid was always a poor choice.
She’ll catch a cold in 9.0 which will develop into pneumonia and she’ll die a slow quiet death in the UC infirmary, her parents were anti-vaxers apparently.
This expansion shouldn’t have touched Azshara or N’Zoth at all. It should have been the faction conflict we were promised, with more emphasis on it even (which means no stupid Heart side mission), and ended with the Saurfang vs. Sylvanas. That could’ve tied us over to Shadowlands where, once we deal with Sylvanas and the Jailor, we return to find Azeroth consumed by the Black Empire at which point Azshara and N’Zoth become relevant.
This expansion could’ve easily been a Black Empire expansion if they’d cut out 8.1 and 8.0; essentially BfA was two expansions melded together in a truly hideous, grotesque form.
Not really. The Legion ending had the Titans overpowering and capturing Sargeras, Illidan’s farewell to his BFF Velen and the aftermath of the whole ordeal with a sword plunged into Azeroth.
The N’zoth cinematic is just “N’zoth died. The end”.
Why even bother with the Old God arc if they’re going to devote this little resources to it?
N’zoth is hyped up to be this unimaginably cunning being, the architect of threats like the Naga, the Emerald Nightmare and most significantly, the corruption of Deathwing. He’s one of the most notable figures in WoW’s history and he’s hyped up to be the only Old God who we’ve seen anywhere close to full power and unlike anything we’ve ever faced before.
And then the second he pops his out head, he instantly loses in pretty much the stupidest way possible.
4 beams firing through a focus into the big bad and turning him into sparkles.
also, when the titans defeated Y’shaarj, it birthed all negative emotion within azeroth and permanently corrupted the planet. we do the same thing to N’zoth and theres no consequences? so much of the old god storyline up to this point was the fact you cannot kill the old gods, you have to trap them and keep them dormant. i know it might be too soon to talk about the permanent results of N’zoth being killed, but it should at least be acknowledged. and just like the draenor orcs getting a complete wash away of all of there war crimes in WOD, i bet nothing will ever be said of N’zoth ever again.
oh and theres still a planetary sized sword still sticking out of azeroth, and the planet is still hemorrhaging and dying…
This sounds a lot like Sargeras, the ultimate bad of WoW until void lords were shoe horned in a few years ago, appears and is defeated in the same cinematic.
