Nvidia Gamestream vs GeForce Now

This past June, the EULA was changed to ban “cloud gaming” WoW.
The definition of cloud gaming in the EULA is:

“Cloud Computing: Use the Platform, including a Game, in connection with any unauthorized third-party “cloud computing” services, “cloud gaming” services, or any software or service designed to enable the unauthorized streaming or transmission of Game content from a third-party server to any device.”

Now it’s obvious from this description that GeForce Now would fall into this category. That’s what it is: cloud gaming.

What I’m trying to get clarification on is Nvidia Gamestream. This is technology that allows me to “cast” my game directly FROM MY PC to an Nvidia Shield device like the one I have connected to my big screen TV. This is by definition not cloud gaming because there is no third party “cloud server” involved. My PC is the server.

Can I do this safely? Without fear of getting banned? Thanks.

The way I understood it was you cannot install a Blizzard game on a remote server and play it from there over your connection.

Also, Blizzard is not gonna confirm or deny what software you can and cannot use.

Not sure you will get a yes or no from Blizzard, they tend not to comment on third party stuff like this. But your definition would sound to be correct, it is not really considered a Cloud Computing service. It would just be using another screen.

Basically that’s a remote desktop. Which while unsupported, is fine.

Blizzard doesn’t want you hosting their intellectual property on 3rd party servers.
