I don’t disagree with that but it is WoW content and WotLK is considered to be the best version of WoW. Also there are other Blizzard games.
I mean what other choice do they have? This is a milk what we got model. Get as much money as you can on the way out. They have the best opportunity to do this with 3 versions of Classic, Retail and D2.
I’m sorry I just don’t see a new WoW expansion coming out. I will say if they do release one it isn’t going to be till 2024 at best. So this content is going to have to hold people over but you have to realize this is a shift in times for Blizzard.
No king rules forever and the last expansion had to happen sometime and that time is no better than now.
I just don’t think people understand where this company is right now. They aren’t the same company.
Longest content drought after launch in history. Literally the longest content drought waiting for a .1 release. That is what you could say extremely bad. It should of been out 4 months ago and it still isn’t finely polished now.
Of course we will since this is the last expansion. Keep in mind you can’t get 9.2 and 9.3 and a new expansion it’s one or the other they don’t have the resources to do both. If they abandon SL they can work on a new expansion but not both.
There is no chance in that at all. Literally zero chance they would have to completely abandon SL and stop making patches in order to work on 10.0 and they aren’t going to do that.
You can’t have both there aren’t enough resources to work on SL and a new expansion.
There is a better model that makes them money old content like Classic and D2 then they can work on new games like D4 or new projects.
Maybe, maybe not. Obviously the MMO market is more excited about other companies now and games coming out. I do think Blizz can maybe compete if they hire enough new talent to make a new MMO or do WoW2 on a new engine.
However there is nothing wrong with them being done in making new expansions. It worked for a really long time. No shame in that. It just isn’t working anymore and the hype is around other MMO not WoW. Also Blizz just doesn’t have the resources to make new content, they really don’t.
People need to realize these expansions just don’t pop out of thin air. There isn’t enough people or resources at Blizz to make 10.0
No they are working on D4 and they need that title to compete with PoE you forget this isn’t just WoW. They pull resources from WoW to do other projects and vice versa. They pulled D4 Devs to get SL out because it was delayed. Now they are all back working on D4.
Never in the history of WoW was there an 8 month wait for the first patch. This is a fact. It should never be longer than 6 months and that is too long. It should be out 4 months after launch to keep excitement.
You can disagree and that is fine I just think the evidence and current state of events show us that SL is the last expansion.
Calling me clueless when everything I have said is based in well researched facts and observations is just you throwing a tantrum. I read the financial reports, been playing Blizz games for 20 yrs and research who is working on what project.
You are just unhappy with what I am saying because it’s not what you want to hear. The reason Blizzcon was cancelled is because they had nothing to announce.
I think you should feel silly in the responses you type to my educated reasoning on why I feel SL should be the last expansion. It’s a business and businesses have to make the right decision sometimes.
There is when it’s broken and it cost too much to fix. Activision is more than just new WoW expansions and the resources are just working on other products and they have old games they can milk instead to print money which is cheaper.
Okay what have I said isn’t? Please list what you don’t understand or think isn’t happening that I listed. I’m just using logic and you are upset.
WoW lasted longer then I think most people thought it has to end sometime. Again there is no better time than now since they have WotLK Classic coming. They can just put SL in maint mode after 9.3
because the world revolves around streamers right lol…I dont watch streamers, could care less about watching someone play a game when i can play it myself
SL broke sales records. New expansion releases make them billions of dollars.
Sure, they’ll get some subs from Wrath Classic. But it’s incredibly silly to think they’re going to throw away their cash cow. The reasons for the moderate delays on 9.1 are obvious to anyone who spends three seconds of thought on it. They’ll get back on track, 9.2 might be a bit of a filler, but they’ll finish out the expansion in time to sell another one.
Gaslight all you want, I’m not upset, I just think you’re kind of dumb lol
The world definitely doesn’t but you need them for FREE PR and marketing. The hype around a game is defined by how is streaming it and how many are watching. That is just the world we live in today.
While this may be true for you that doesn’t mean it isn’t an indicator on what games are popular or a shift in gaming. You can also not believe in gravity but that doesn’t mean if you walk off the edge of a building you aren’t going to fall.
Whether you watch or not is irrelevant because just like gravity it does exist and it is important.
Well yea 9.3.5 then 9.4 then 9.4.5 then 9.5 as SL is the last expansion.
I don’t think this is confirmation of much unfortunately. As much as I would rather get out of this expansion so we can get back to a point where the game is more fun, I think we also need to remember that they planned on 5 seasons for Shadowlands.
Those claiming such had reason before shadowlands when it was still required to level in legion to get to max level, but seeing as how no-one has to even touch legion to get to max level anymore (and brand new people are made to start in BFA), its mechanics and the artifact weapons are just optional looks to be obtained now.
Yes and these teams are interchangeable. They literally closed down Blizz HQ in Europe and shifted people around to various projects in Activision. There are just a lot less people and they all get moved. Right now the bulk of operations is focused on D4 which includes WoW employees.
If you think they have a team to do SL patches, D4, overwatch and make a new WoW expansion. You are wrong in that regard. The company has downsized a massive amount and shifted away from it’s old model.
Yes and Activision lost 30% of it’s user base across all games. Which is the only company to suffer staggering player loses during a pandemic when other gaming companies were thriving at new levels.
Sorry it isn’t the pandemic that was a problem it’s the poorly run company. This isn’t a valid excuse to blame the pandemic when other companies are surging to record heights in this market.
Been listing some of it.
If you say so but I feel all my statements are very well researched.
